{"id":167659,"date":"2023-08-18T15:51:07","date_gmt":"2023-08-18T14:51:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.techweekmag.com\/?p=167659"},"modified":"2023-08-18T15:51:07","modified_gmt":"2023-08-18T14:51:07","slug":"lg-unveils-27-inch-stanbyme-go-tv-with-up-to-3-hours-of-battery-life","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/tv\/lg-unveils-27-inch-stanbyme-go-tv-with-up-to-3-hours-of-battery-life\/","title":{"rendered":"LG unveils 27-inch StanbyME Go TV with up to 3 hours of battery life"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Later this month, LG will begin selling the unusual, one-of-a-kind StanbyME Go TV in the US for $999.99.\u00a0It&#8217;s a 27-inch 1080p LCD TV housed in a large suitcase with a built-in battery and four speakers with a total output of 20 watts.\u00a0The novelty supports AirPlay, screen mirroring compatible with iOS and Android devices, as well as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and voice control.<\/p>\n<p>LG&#8217;s idea is to make the TV the go-to companion for a picnic, family outing or sporting event.\u00a0The possibilities are only limited by the owner&#8217;s imagination and the StanbyME Go&#8217;s three-hour battery life.\u00a0According to a press release from LG, the new display\u00a0<em>&#8220;can be rotated, tilted, and rotated in landscape, portrait, and desktop mode<\/em>\u00a0. &#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/119_techweek.jpg\" alt=\" \" width=\"800\" height=\"466\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The TV runs LG&#8217;s webOS software, so the customer gets the usual set of streaming apps.\u00a0The TV can be controlled using the touch screen, the included remote control, which has its own place in the suitcase, or by voice.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><center><\/center><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/JtFrFkXbraE\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/center>The manufacturer claims that the StanbyME Go TV-in-a-suitcase complies with the Dolby Vision specification and is capable of playing Dolby Atmos virtualized surround sound.\u00a0The value of peak brightness has not been announced, but experts believe that it will be quite modest, given the claimed three-hour battery life.\u00a0The TV is advertised as outdoor mode in sunlight, but the battery will drain much faster.<\/p>\n<p>In the absence of a signal source, StanbyME Go can offer eight ambient themes, such as &#8220;cozy crackling fireplace&#8221; or &#8220;beach scene with the sound of crashing waves.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/techweek.gif\" alt=\" \" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p>LG plans to sell its &#8220;TV-in-a-suitcase&#8221;
