Shenzhen Yongnuo Photographic Equipment Co., Ltd.\u00a0introduced an inexpensive\u00a0Yongnuo YN50mm 1.8X DSM Pro\u00a0lens\u00a0for the Fujifilm X mount. In addition to autofocus, the lens received a small OLED display.\u00a0The price is $265.<\/p>\n

The lens has only one focus ring, which many photographers and videographers consider to be a significant drawback in terms of workflow.\u00a0But this ring can control both focus and aperture, which is done by the \u201cSW\u201d mode switch on the side of the lens.\u00a0And in “I” mode, the ring on the lens can be used for manual focusing.\u00a0When set to “II”, it switches to iris control.\u00a0It may be an interesting idea, but it’s not clear if Fujifilm users will like it.<\/p>\n

The second notable feature is the aforementioned OLED display, which shows the current aperture values.\u00a0This is the second Chinese lens to have some sort of digital “window” at the top of the lens (the first appeared on the new\u00a0Viltrox AF 16mm F1.8\u00a0lens ), and although this information is usually redundant for many modern cameras, for some it can needed to quickly check aperture readings at a glance, since not all Fujifilm cameras have a top display.\u00a0But it should be noted that it shows significantly less information than Viltrox.<\/p>\n

The optical design consists of 11 elements in eight groups.\u00a0There is a nano-layer coating to improve light transmission and suppress reflections and glare.<\/p>\n

The minimum aperture of F1.8 will allow you to get not only soft bokeh, but also shoot in low light conditions.\u00a0Autofocus is driven by a quiet and fast stepping motor.\u00a0Apparently, the lens does not have optical image stabilization.<\/p>\n

The body is made of aluminum alloy, it is anodized with a matte finish.\u00a0The bayonet has a dust and waterproof rubber seal.\u00a0Contacts are gold-plated.\u00a0There is a USB Type-C interface for firmware updates.<\/p>\n

Yongnuo says\u00a0“The lens is compatible with X-H2S, X-H2, X-Pro3, X-T5, X-T4, X-T3, S-S20, X-S10, X-T30 II, X-T200, X-E4 and other X-<\/i>\u00a0mount\u00a0cameras\u00a0<\/i>.<\/i><\/p>\n
