{"id":165978,"date":"2023-07-27T06:16:59","date_gmt":"2023-07-27T05:16:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.techweekmag.com\/?p=165978"},"modified":"2023-07-27T06:16:59","modified_gmt":"2023-07-27T05:16:59","slug":"dji-air-3-officially-unveiled-for-1099","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/photo\/dji-air-3-officially-unveiled-for-1099\/","title":{"rendered":"DJI Air 3 officially unveiled for $1,099"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The DJI Air 3<\/strong>\u00a0drone\u00a0received two cameras: with a telephoto and wide-angle lenses for capturing photos at a resolution of 48 megapixels and video up to 4K at 100p.\u00a0It can stay in the air for up to 46 minutes and weighs 720 grams.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"DJI Air 3\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/141_techweek.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"920\" height=\"517\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This is the first dual camera drone in the Air series.\u00a0Its cameras are equipped with two 1\/1.3\u201d type CMOS sensors with the same resolution of 48 megapixels, which expands the possibilities of aerial photography in essence to the variability that is provided by the use of different lenses on conventional (\u201cground\u201d) cameras.\u00a0As previously reported, they are not Hasselblad&#8217;s, at least not marked &#8216;H&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/142_techweek.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"920\" height=\"648\" \/><br \/>\nCameras not marked &#8216;H&#8217; (Hasselblad)<\/p>\n<p>The sensors of both cameras have pixel sizes of 2.4 microns.\u00a0Wide-angle lens with 24mm equivalent focal length, f\/1.7 aperture, and telephoto lens with 70mm f\/2.8 aperture.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"DJI Air 3\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/143_techweek.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"920\" height=\"399\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Both sensors also support Dual Native ISO for direct output of 4K 60p HDR video and up to 4K at 100p maximum.\u00a0Without crop, unlike its predecessor &#8211; DJI Air 2S.\u00a0Both can shoot 10-bit video in D-Log M and HLG.\u00a0DJI says 10-bit D-Log M will help preserve more detail in the highlights and shadows for more flexible post-processing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"photo-title\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/144_techweek.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"920\" height=\"833\" \/><br \/>\nNew DJI Air 3 can stay in the air for up to 46 minutes<\/p>\n<p>Another area that has been greatly improved over the Air 2S is battery life.\u00a0Air 3 has 48% more flight autonomy &#8211; up to 46 minutes.\u00a0In addition, the new three-battery charging hub supports the function, allowing you to transfer the remaining charge from multiple batteries to the battery with the highest charge level.<\/p>\n<p class=\"photo-title\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/145_techweek.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"538\" \/><br \/>\nThe charging hub, among other things, allows you to redistribute the remaining battery charges into one<\/p>\n<p>The Air 3 is also the first device in the series to feature omnidirectional obstacle detection.\u00a0DJI says this feature provides all-round environmental awareness, allowing the aircraft to detect obstacles in all directions, and to avoid them, the Air 3 can use APAS 5.0 to perform smoother evasive maneuvers and a safer overall flight.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/146_techweek.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"920\" height=\"287\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In terms of features, the Air 3 supports FocusTrack on both cameras to keep the subject in the center of the frame, QuickShots like drone, boomerang, circle and more.\u00a0As mentioned, it also supports 2.7K vertical shooting, hyperlapse shooting, and has a night mode for better shooting in darker conditions.\u00a0&#8220;MasterShots&#8221;
