The S10 head unit is based on the heavily redesigned S100 network switch and has an improved power management section.\u00a0The body of the head unit has also been greatly improved by using higher quality aluminum for the body, which the manufacturer says has increased rigidity and more insulation for the signal-carrying electronics.\u00a0Shielded hard steel chassis provides additional mechanical stability.<\/p>\n

Connections on the back include RJ45 Ethernet ports with different speeds: 4x 100MB and 4x 1GB, the latter useful for the Roon Core processor generating a lot of traffic.\u00a0In addition, 2 1GB SFP (small form factor) ports are also included for fiber direct connectivity and compatibility with supported devices.<\/p>\n
