The German company\u00a0Avantgarde\u00a0Acoustics\u00a0, known for its monstrous horn acoustic systems, has presented something completely unexpected for itself – compact speakers\u00a0Colibri\u00a0C\u00a02\u00a0… based on horns, of course.<\/b><\/b><\/b><\/b><\/b><\/b><\/p>\n

Avantgarde Acoustic claims that the engineers were inspired by the lightness and speed of the hummingbird when designing the new product \u2013 hence the name of the model, which is much more compact and, importantly, lighter than previous Avantgarde Acoustic models, which will allow more people to bring home the exquisite sound of Avantgarde products. The Avantgarde\u00a0Acoustic\u00a0Colibri\u00a0C\u00a02\u00a0is a compact two-way loudspeaker that is claimed to have a high sensitivity of up to 98dB and a SPL of 117dB.\u00a0The most striking element of the speaker is without a doubt the spherical horn at the center of the Colibri C2.\u00a0It is designed to maximize the operating range – the emitter operates from 700 Hz to 19 kHz.\u00a0A feature of this speaker is the small mass of the cone – only 2.2 grams.\u00a0This provides a high speed driver and therefore dynamic playback.<\/b><\/b><\/b><\/b><\/b><\/b><\/b><\/p>\n

The range below 700 Hz is served by a driver with a cone with a diameter of 6.5 inches, which also has a small mass – only 12.5 grams, and operates from 70 Hz.\u00a0To create a more solid bass foundation, Avantgarde Acoustic suggests using the C18 subwoofer with an 18-inch woofer in a 70-liter cabinet with the Colibri C2.\u00a0It can serve as a stand for the Colibri C2, or be placed freely in the room and thus camouflaged when needed.<\/p>\n

If the Colibri C2 does not use a subwoofer, the speaker can be mounted on the supplied rubber mounts, or you can use a variety of support frames and wall brackets for installation – there are many installation options!\u00a0If necessary, the columns can be rotated horizontally and vertically.<\/p>\n
