or 8.1 installed.\u00a0Microsoft has already stopped supporting these versions of the system, now software developers are gradually phasing it out.\u00a0In February of this year, Google stopped supporting the Chrome browser for Windows 8 and 8.1, and now it&#8217;s the turn of the Google Drive cloud client.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_162921\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-162921\" switch to new versions of Windows<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>A warning appeared on the Google support page that in August 2023, the Google Drive desktop app will no longer work on computers running Windows 8\/8.1, Windows Server 2012, and all 32-bit versions of Windows.\u00a0To avoid problems accessing your files stored in the cloud, the company recommends upgrading to Windows 10 or later.\u00a0Windows 32-bit users will still be able to access Drive, but only through a browser.<\/p>\n<p>The Google Drive desktop app is needed to sync folders and files with the cloud, so if you need to, consider updating your operating system.\u00a0Access through a browser allows you to manually manage all the files in the cloud, while automatic synchronization with a computer does not
