On Wednesday, June 7, as planned, the premiere of the Volvo EX30 took place.\u00a0It’s an electric crossover that the manufacturer claims is the smallest, greenest and fastest Volvo ever.<\/p>\n

The Volvo EX30 is Volvo’s smallest electric car.\u00a0The length of its body is only 4233 mm, but thanks to the wheelbase stretched to 2650 mm, the interior of the car will be comfortable both front and rear.\u00a0The crossover weighs more than 1800 kg.<\/p>\n

In addition, the new crossover, according to Volvo, is the fastest model of the Swedish brand.\u00a0The top version of the car, equipped with two motors (one for each axle) with a total capacity of 428 hp, accelerates from 0 to 100 km\/h in just 3.4 seconds.\u00a0And the basic modification of the Volvo EX30 with a single 272 hp engine mounted on the rear axle.\u00a0acceleration to \u201chundreds\u201d takes about 5.5 seconds.\u00a0Interestingly, it was decided to limit the maximum speed of the crossover at 180 km \/ h.<\/p>\n

In the basic version, the new Volvo crossover is equipped with a 51 kWh iron-phosphate lithium battery, and in more expensive versions, the car has a battery with nickel-manganese-cobalt cells with a capacity of 64 kWh.\u00a0The power reserve of the most \u201clong-range\u201d version of the crossover is 590 kilometers in the CLTC cycle.<\/p>\n

Volvo EX30 is also the brand’s most environmentally friendly car, and for two reasons at once.\u00a0First, it has the lowest lifetime carbon footprint of any other Volvo car.\u00a0The level of CO2 emissions upon reaching a mileage of 305 thousand kilometers will be less than 30 tons.\u00a0Secondly, recycled materials are widely used in the car.\u00a0Thus, a quarter of the aluminum and 17% of the steel and plastic used in the production of the Volvo EX30 are made from recycled materials.<\/p>\n

The high level of safety of the new Volvo car deserves special attention.\u00a0The Volvo EX30 is claimed to be the safest electric crossover in the world thanks to a reinforced body, high-strength stable suspension, an additional airbag on the inside of the driver’s seat, and numerous safety and driver assistance systems, including a warning of moving vehicles when the doors are opened.<\/p>\n
