{"id":158928,"date":"2023-03-19T12:34:55","date_gmt":"2023-03-19T12:34:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.techweekmag.com\/?p=158928"},"modified":"2023-10-18T06:08:32","modified_gmt":"2023-10-18T05:08:32","slug":"luxman-unveils-d-07x-universal-optical-disc-player","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/hi-fi\/luxman-unveils-d-07x-universal-optical-disc-player\/","title":{"rendered":"Luxman unveils D-07X universal optical disc player"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"news__content\" data-v-206174c4=\"\">\n<div data-v-206174c4=\"\">\n<p>The Japanese company\u00a0Luxman\u00a0has introduced a universal digital player\u00a0D-07X\u00a0.\u00a0In addition to playing SACD and CD optical discs, the novelty supports the MQA format, both MQA-CD playback and MQA file decoding.\u00a0In addition,\u00a0the Luxman D-07X\u00a0can act as an external DAC, offering not only coaxial and optical digital inputs, but also a USB-B port, which can play PCM audio up to 32-bit \/ 768 kHz and DSD up to 22.4 MHz.<\/p>\n<p>From the company&#8217;s flagship D-10X, the new player inherits key technologies and solutions, including the LxDTM-i optical disc transport and the ROHM MUS-IC BD34301EKV digital-to-analog converter.\u00a0In the Luxman nomenclature, the D-07X will replace the D-06u.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/296_techweek.jpg\" alt=\"Image\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"news__content\" data-v-206174c4=\"\">\n<div data-v-206174c4=\"\">\n<p>The LxDTM-i optical disc transport embodies Luxman&#8217;s understanding that the effects of vibration and resonance on a disc transport can lead to audio distortion.\u00a0The LxDTM-i is made in Japan and is encased in a steel casing with a rigid frame at the base.\u00a0The drive also features an improved reading mechanism, a die-cast aluminum disc tray, and a left-hand mount that minimizes signal paths.<\/p>\n<p>The D-07X is the second Luxman turntable equipped with MUS-IC BD34301EKV D\/A converters from Japan&#8217;s ROHM Semiconductor.\u00a0Using the 32-bit \u0394\u03a3 (delta-sigma) concept, the converters achieve a signal-to-noise ratio of -130 dB.\u00a0The D-07X uses two of these DACs in a dual mono configuration.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/297_techweek.jpg\" alt=\"Image\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ad-inpage2 inpage-banner\" data-v-4bbac5a6=\"\" data-v-206174c4=\"\">\n<div id=\"adfox_160819351990185606\" data-v-4bbac5a6=\"\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"adfox_160819354584955791\" data-v-4bbac5a6=\"\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"news__content\" data-v-206174c4=\"\">\n<div data-v-206174c4=\"\">\n<p>The Luxman D-07X player is capable of playing files of various formats via a USB port under the control of the proprietary LUXMAN Audio Player software player.\u00a0The software, available for MacOS and Windows computers, is capable of playing WAV, FLAC, MP3, DSF, DSDIFF, ALAC, and AIFF files.\u00a0The USB port is capable of receiving PCM digital streams up to 768 kHz sampling rate and 32-bit quantization, as well as DSD signals up to 22.4 MHz sampling rates.\u00a0Coaxial and optical inputs support up to 24bit\/192kHz PCM resolution.<\/p>\n<p>Luxman D-07X supports Master Quality Authenticated decoding for MQA and MQA-CD files. Broadcasting of MQA audio files is supported via USB, optical and coaxial inputs. To connect to an amplifier, the Luxman D-07X player is equipped with both a balanced analog output on XLR connectors and an unbalanced RCA one.
