The\u00a0Tronsmart Halo 100\u00a0is a solid outdoor wireless speaker from this Asian audio specialist brand.\u00a0This model is perfect for entertaining parties at home or by the pool thanks to its IPX6 protection against water and on top of that it has customizable LED lighting.\u00a0However, what matters most about a speaker is its sound, and in that regard we can anticipate that it is an excellent proposal at the 100-euro mark, since it provides convincing audio quality with 60W output power.<\/p>\n

Design\u00a0of the Tronsmart Halo 100<\/h3>\n

The Tronsmart Halo 100 is a portable speaker, but at the same time not so portable, that is, we can take it anywhere, but we must take into account that it measures 287 x 198 x 150mm.\u00a0To help us move it, it\u00a0has a convenient handle on top.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

As you’ll see, the speaker has a\u00a0floor-standing design with rounded corners and the drivers are surrounded by RGB LED rings\u00a0with cool lighting effects that are easy on the eyes.\u00a0The body itself has a black plastic case, a metal grill and a rubberized tactile surface on top, meanwhile, the carrying strap is made of faux leather and adds a classy touch to the speaker.<\/p>\n

At the top of the Halo 100 we will run into physical buttons.\u00a0In addition to the usual controls, we also find the SoundPulse sound mode change buttons, stereo pairing connection and the LED mode change button.<\/p>\n

With all that said, the speaker receives an\u00a0IPX6 rating of certification\u00a0against the elements, which means it can get wet, but not submerged (obviously).\u00a0However, it does not have any kind of resistance to dust, so we would not recommend taking it to the beach, but to the pool.\u00a0If you’re wondering where the ports are located, they’re on the lower rear of the body, fully shielded by a thick layer of rubber.<\/p>\n

How about the sound?<\/h3>\n

To answer that question, we need to make it clear that the Tronsmart Halo 100 has a 1.22-inch tweeter, two 2.09-inch mid-tweeters, a 4.53-inch woofer, and a 5.6-inch passive radiator.\u00a0This set\u00a0generates 60W output\u00a0and has a frequency range of 40Hz to 20kHz.<\/p>\n

The volume level is not bad at all, without tuning we can reach\u00a0\u00a0100dB and without noticeable distortion\u00a0(at least outdoors), but for a purer experience it is preferable to leave it at 94dB.\u00a0Be that as it may, for a speaker in this price range, that is impressive and enough to provide sound for small parties or meetings, both indoors and outdoors.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately it’s not all rosy, and this speaker errs in that it\u00a0only supports the SBC codec\u00a0, which means it can’t take advantage of high-resolution audio sources via Bluetooth.<\/p>\n

Similarly,\u00a0SoundPulse technology does not produce as good results\u00a0in this speaker as the manufacturer makes it out to be.\u00a0Going into details, it has good bass, but the mids are clearly overlapping, although they still sound good compared to the treble.<\/p>\n

Connectivity<\/h3>\n

As you can guess, the main connection method is via\u00a0Bluetooth 5.3\u00a0wirelessly, but the Tronsmart Halo 100 comes with the advantage that it supports multipoint pairing to connect two devices simultaneously.\u00a0Another advantage is the possibility of connecting a second Halo 100 speaker to produce\u00a0true stereo sound\u00a0(True Wireless Sound).<\/p>\n

Additionally, we can connect any other audio source through the\u00a03.5mm jack\u00a0.\u00a0There is also the option to record music to a\u00a0flash drive or microSD card\u00a0and play it from the corresponding slots on the back.\u00a0So it’s a pretty complete package.<\/p>\n

Application<\/h3>\n

Like any self-respecting speaker of this brand, the Tronsmart Halo 100 can be controlled from the Tronsmart mobile application.\u00a0We can from updating the firmware of the speaker to checking the battery and controlling music playback;\u00a0but by far the most useful feature is the\u00a0sound equalizer\u00a0, which gives us a choice between presets like Rock, Classical,\u00a0SoundPulse and Deep Bass\u00a0, not to mention the possibilities to customize the equalizer to our liking and to switch between\u00a05 modes luminous\u00a0_<\/p>\n

Battery<\/h3>\n

Finally, the Tronsmart Halo 100 is powered by a\u00a012,000mAh battery that promises up to 18 hours of autonomy\u00a0on a single charge.\u00a0As you can imagine, the actual duration that the battery can give us depends on many factors, but at least we can confirm that 15 hours can be achieved\u00a0consistently with the volume at 50%\u00a0and the LED lighting active at all times, which is not it’s not bad\u00a0On the other hand, the recharging time is 5.5 hours and the process occurs via USB-C.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

A little detail that we cannot forget to mention is that the speaker\u00a0can be used as a Powerbank to charge other devices\u00a0.\u00a0It is a slow charge (5V\/2A), but it can get us out of trouble, so it is appreciated.<\/p>\n
