Winamp has come back twice in the last few years.\u00a0The first one was in 2018.\u00a0They promised\u00a0a new player, applications for Android and iOS and the possibility of cloud listening to music.\u00a0The second time\u00a0was in 2021\u00a0.\u00a0Then they started accepting applications for beta testing, I signed up, but so far nothing has happened.\u00a0Although there is already an online player interface.<\/p>\n

Since then, the rights to Winamp have been bought by another company, the Llama Group.\u00a0True, its founder is still the same Alexander Sabunjyan.\u00a0It featured in two previous attempts to revive the player.<\/p>\n

And now another promise: a streaming service!\u00a0And 85% of all sales will go to musicians!<\/p>\n

The difference this time is that specific dates have been named: registration for artists will be available on March 15, and for users on April 15.<\/p>\n

The press release\u00a0is filled with socialist speeches: streaming revenues are low, and in general it has left many artists behind.\u00a0However, this may not work.\u00a0Users will have the choice of which subscription to subscribe to, including direct support for artists.\u00a0They will differ in price and access to exclusive content.<\/p>\n
