{"id":155796,"date":"2023-02-25T07:47:38","date_gmt":"2023-02-25T07:47:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.techweekmag.com\/?p=155796"},"modified":"2023-10-18T06:10:40","modified_gmt":"2023-10-18T05:10:40","slug":"wharfedale-dovedale-a-new-generation-of-the-classic-model","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/speakers\/wharfedale-dovedale-a-new-generation-of-the-classic-model\/","title":{"rendered":"Wharfedale Dovedale: A new generation of the classic model"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Wharfedale has released a new model of\u00a0Dovedale\u00a0loudspeakers , which has\u00a0replenished\u00a0the Heritage line.<\/p>\n<p>Speakers bearing the Dovedale name first appeared on the market in 1965, but the new version is based on the third generation of the Dovedale 3, which was released in 1971.\u00a0The novelty is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the brand and is produced at the company&#8217;s factory in Cambridgeshire.\u00a0Compared to the original model, the new version is taller and significantly deeper.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/248_techweek.jpg\" alt=\"Image\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The high-frequency transducer is equipped with\u00a0a 25 mm woven dome\u00a0and is loaded on its own acoustic chamber with an absorber.\u00a0The midrange and bass drivers have Kevlar\u00a0cones\u00a0measuring\u00a0130mm\u00a0and\u00a0250mm\u00a0, respectively, while the midrange driver is also loaded with its own acoustic volume.\u00a0The bass speaker works on a phase inverter, the dual port of which is brought to the rear panel.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/39_techweek.webp\" alt=\"Image\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The body panels are covered with natural veneer and made of two layers of MDF with a gasket made of vibration damping material, the internal volume is additionally damped with acoustic foam and fiber material.\u00a0The stated lower cutoff frequency of the system is\u00a025 Hz\u00a0, which promises solid bass.\u00a0Sensitivity is\u00a089 dB\u00a0, impedance varies from\u00a06 ohms to 3.6 ohms\u00a0.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/249_techweek.jpg\" alt=\"Image\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Wharfedale Dovedale\u00a0speakers\u00a0will go on sale in the UK market in March 2023 for\u00a0\u00a35,000\u00a0without stands, and\u00a0\u00a35,500\u00a0for a pair with branded stands .<\/p>\n<p>[ratemypost]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wharfedale has released a new model of\u00a0Dovedale\u00a0loudspeakers , which has\u00a0replenished\u00a0the Heritage line.
