{"id":155580,"date":"2023-02-22T14:32:51","date_gmt":"2023-02-22T14:32:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.techweekmag.com\/?p=155580"},"modified":"2023-10-18T06:10:51","modified_gmt":"2023-10-18T05:10:51","slug":"copland-cta407-tube-integrated-amplifier-goes-on-sale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/hi-fi\/copland-cta407-tube-integrated-amplifier-goes-on-sale\/","title":{"rendered":"Copland CTA407 tube integrated amplifier goes on sale"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Presented at the exhibition in Munich back in May last year,\u00a0the Copland\u00a0CTA\u00a0407\u00a0integrated tube amplifier is finally on sale.\u00a0The novelty will replace the model CTA408 in the range of the Danish company.\u00a0Unlike the latest premieres from\u00a0Copland\u00a0Audio\u00a0, having a hybrid configuration with a tube pre-stage and a transistorized output stage, the CTA407 is a classic tube amplifier with push-pull output stages operating in ultra-linear mode, on a pair of beam tetrodes in each channel, providing an output power of 2&#215;50 W in class A \/ AB, moreover, more part of the power range, the amplifier operates in pure class A.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, the harmonic distortion factor does not exceed 0.8%, the operating frequency range extends from 10 Hz to 150 kHz at a level of -3 dB, and the signal-to-noise ratio exceeds 100 dB &#8211; impressive performance for a tube amp!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/201_techweek.jpg\" alt=\"Image\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Copland CTA407 amplifier allows you to use any model of the 6550\/KT88\/KT120\/KT150 family as output tubes &#8211; a proprietary lossless automatic bias control system will determine the optimal operation of the selected tubes.\u00a0Copland CTA407 ships with KT88 tubes in the output stages, two 12BH7 double triodes and one ECC83 double triode in the preamp stages.\u00a0All transformers in the amplifier (power and two output) are toroidal, of our own production.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/202_techweek.jpg\" alt=\"Image\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The switching arsenal of the Copland CTA407 integrated amplifier includes four linear unbalanced inputs on RCA connectors and a linear input and output for connecting a tape recorder.\u00a0There is also a built-in tube phono stage for working with moving magnet (MM) or moving coil (MC) cartridges with high output, inherited from the popular CTA405 model, made on four tubes &#8211;
