Sony continues to experiment with the form factor of headphones.\u00a0After the company released its innovative donut-like LinkBuds, the Japanese tech giant has unveiled a new model called the Float Run to the public.\u00a0This is a completely new type of wireless headphones designed for athletes and people with an active lifestyle.<\/p>\n

Judging by the name, the company is promoting the term “out-of-the-ear” headphones.\u00a0The new development received an unusual suspension design – the headphones are not inserted into the ear canal, but instead are held on a special mount with behind-the-ear temples.\u00a0The headphones themselves are interconnected by a flexible jumper, and this whole system is somewhat reminiscent of glasses.\u00a0Sony positions its new product as headphones for athletes and runners, since they do not fall out and do not interfere, they are as comfortable as possible to wear during sports.<\/p>\n

In terms of technical details, the Float Run does not have Active Noise Cancellation (ANC).\u00a0But there are unusually large 16mm drivers, which Sony claims provide “no compromise sound and more natural sound”.\u00a0Headphones weigh only 33 grams, so they are almost not felt.\u00a0Other features include support for the SBC \/ AAC codec, Bluetooth 5.0 and splash protection according to the IPX4 standard.\u00a0The manufacturer promises up to 10 hours of battery life.<\/p>\n
