Does so much nomenclature end up being positive?\u00a0OLED, QLED, WLED, QDOLED, MicroLED,\u00a0MiniLED\u00a0, LG META\u00a0(\u00a0which we have already seen are spectacular this year\u00a0)\u2026 And no, NanoLED is not old, you are probably confusing it with NanoCell, in case we didn’t have enough.\u00a0Be that as it may, this,\u00a0NanoLED is the new technology that aims to surpass OLED\u00a0.\u00a0Let’s see what it consists of.<\/p>\n

What is NanoLED?<\/h2>\n

We have to start by saying, and very clearly, that for the moment this technology\u00a0has not gone into production\u00a0as of the date I am writing these words.\u00a0Knowing this, let’s see.<\/p>\n

The idea that swarms in the air is from\u00a0Nanosys\u00a0and, unlike what we are discovering from many others, this\u00a0one could put OLED in danger\u00a0.\u00a0Why?\u00a0Well, its operation is not at all similar to that of the LEDs seen so far.<\/p>\n

Example of the operation of the different technologies<\/p>\n

It was\u00a0at this CES2023\u00a0that, behind closed doors, Nanosys showed a prototype, in just six inches, of this light technology.\u00a0So much so that those who have been lucky enough to discover it live have been asked\u00a0not to show perfect images\u00a0but to blur them.\u00a0In addition,\u00a0video recordings were also not allowed\u00a0.<\/p>\n

In the case of the NanoLED, it does not excite the diodes using light,\u00a0it uses electrical impulses\u00a0in a process that incorporates what we know as electroluminescence.<\/p>\n

A matrix of quantum dots is excited, being able to\u00a0obviate the panel of rear LED diodes\u00a0necessary, with the technologies seen up to now, for the generation of blue light.\u00a0Now the\u00a0quantum dots themselves would be the generators of both the light and the main colors\u00a0from the impulses and without intermediaries.<\/p>\n

Nanosys is not shy about stating that these panels would have a\u00a0brightness 50 times greater than OLEDs\u00a0while maintaining the perfection of the blacks, also improving the wide\u00a0viewing\u00a0angles to which we are already accustomed;\u00a0One last!\u00a0At the same time ,\u00a0energy efficiency would improve\u00a0and they could be made even\u00a0thinner\u00a0.<\/p>\n
