{"id":150963,"date":"2022-11-21T12:30:26","date_gmt":"2022-11-21T12:30:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.techweekmag.com\/?p=150963"},"modified":"2022-11-21T12:30:26","modified_gmt":"2022-11-21T12:30:26","slug":"velodyne-microvee-x-6-5-subwoofer-up-to-800w","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/speakers\/velodyne-microvee-x-6-5-subwoofer-up-to-800w\/","title":{"rendered":"Velodyne MicroVee X: 6.5&#8243; Subwoofer up to 800W"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The MicroVee X is a member of the compact class subwoofer generation from Velodyne Acoustics Inc.<\/p>\n<p>The company calls it &#8220;the latest generation of compact low-frequency marvel.&#8221;\u00a0It is the same proven design with two passive cones and a metal housing.\u00a0The driver has been redesigned from the ground up and weighs 3.6kg, of which 3kg is the Y3 ferrite magnets.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9059\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/160_techweek.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"720\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The speaker diaphragm is made of carbon composite and has an ultra-flexible nitrile rubber surround.\u00a0The driver's voice coil is two inches in diameter and is a high purity four piece copper construction.<\/p>\n<p>Class A\/B amplifier delivers 300W RMS, up to 800W peak power.\u00a0To do this, it is equipped with four massive 180 V MOSFETs with a current of 34 A. Switching power supply &#8211; also with two MOSFETs and a power of 17 A and 650 V.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9060\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/161_techweek.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"562\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Velodyne MicroVee X has a DSP from Analog Devices Inc.\u00a0All relevant parameters such as phase, volume and crossover settings can be controlled directly from the listening position using the Remote Eye.\u00a0Classic RCA input connectors &#8211;
