Due to the use of side lighting, the TV turned out to be quite thin. Without the cable management clips, its thickness is 4.4 cm. In general, the build quality of the meteorite titanium-colored plastic case is quite decent.

The model under consideration is distinguished by a base in the form of widely spaced legs, in contrast to the QNED81 , QNED86 , QNED87 series with a sickle-shaped base located in the center. This is very characteristic of LG. All connectors of the LG QNED806QA TV are directed sideways or downwards, which is important if you decide to mount it on the wall using a VESA bracket. The design of the remote control has not changed compared to last year – it’s still the same Magic Control.

Image quality

The IPS-type matrix used in the QNED806QA TV, as opposed to the VA matrix , provides very good viewing angles, although the black color will not be as deep. This means that the native contrast ratio of the QNED80 will be lower, but thanks to the local dimming system, it can be slightly increased. Six zones of side lighting is clearly not enough for precise control.

The NanoCell Display displays a picture using quantum dots, whose color depends on the size. This allows us to enjoy rich, pure and accurate color details. The QNED806 offers an excellent color gamut that covers 95% of the DCI P3 color spectrum, which is the standard for HDR.

As for HDR, the LG QNED806 TV is capable of playing content in HLG and HDR10 formats. Yes, formats with dynamic metadata are not supported. Support for HDR10 + is missing due to the fact that this is the domain of Samsung. And there is no Dolby Vision to keep the budget of the TV. Nevertheless, a 10-bit matrix is able to create an already quite realistic image with rich colors.

The hardware of the QNED806 TV is based on the α7 Gen5 4K intelligent processor. Thanks to it, some deep learning algorithms are implemented to improve image and sound processing. The AI Picture Pro algorithm recognizes the quality of the content, while the generation AI processor eliminates noise, optimizes contrast and saturation. In addition, the processor does a good job of intelligently upscaling to 4K.

Smart TV

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-11271" src="https://www.stereoindex.com/tech/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/67_techweek.jpg" sizes="auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px" srcset="https://www.stereoindex.com/tech/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/67_techweek.jpg 700w, https://www.stereoindex.com/tech/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/73_techweek.jpg 300w, https://www.stereoindex.com/tech/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/74_techweek.jpg 768w, https://www.stereoindex.com/tech/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/75_techweek.jpg 1536w, https://www.stereoindex.com/tech/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/76_techweek.jpg 1920w" alt="LG QNED80 -
