Google is constantly making efforts to improve Chrome, but it’s still not perfect.\u00a0The browser is by far the most popular and one of the most functional, but it has a problem with resource consumption.\u00a0It seems that Google also understands this and is trying to solve the problem.\u00a0Now Chrome developers are working on new tools for releasing system resources.<\/p>\n

CHROME HAS LEARNED HOW TO PUT INACTIVE TABS TO SLEEP TO FREE UP RAM<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Earlier this month, Reddit user Leopeva64-2 noticed a new performance settings section (chrome:\/\/settings\/performance).\u00a0It appeared in the latest build of Chrome Canary and contains options to activate the memory saving mode and power saving.\u00a0The first (Memory Saver) puts inactive tabs to sleep, freeing up RAM.\u00a0When this function is active, the corresponding icon is displayed on the right side of the address bar.<\/p>\n

When re-accessing inactive tabs, a pop-up window appears indicating how much RAM has been freed up for other tasks.\u00a0You can enable or disable memory saving mode, as well as add exclusions for sites, at any time in the browser settings.\u00a0This feature can be useful for older computers or Chromebooks with limited RAM.<\/p>\n
