{"id":149917,"date":"2022-10-16T10:06:11","date_gmt":"2022-10-16T09:06:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.techweekmag.com\/?p=149917"},"modified":"2023-10-18T07:02:48","modified_gmt":"2023-10-18T06:02:48","slug":"razer-edge-the-ultimate-portable-cloud-gaming-console","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/gaming\/razer-edge-the-ultimate-portable-cloud-gaming-console\/","title":{"rendered":"Razer Edge: The ultimate portable cloud gaming console"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Razer has unveiled its Edge portable gaming console.\u00a0The novelty is built on the Qualcomm platform and runs on Android.\u00a0It is intended primarily for use with streaming (cloud) gaming services like Xbox Cloud Gaming or NVIDIA GeForce Now.<\/p>\n<div id=\"g1-fluid-wrapper-counter-1\" class=\"g1-fluid-wrapper \" style=\"width:662px;\" data-g1-fluid-width=\"662\" data-g1-fluid-height=\"372\">\n<div class=\"g1-fluid-wrapper-inner\" style=\"padding-bottom:56.19335347432%;\">\n\t       <iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Razer Edge | Ultimate Android Gaming Handheld\" width=\"662\" height=\"372\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/AZyHRhDxiDk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n\t       <\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The Razer Edge features a 6.8-inch Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) OLED touchscreen display with a 144Hz refresh rate.\u00a0And the console itself is more like a small tablet or a large smartphone &#8211; unlike other portable consoles, there are no controls on the sides of the screen.\u00a0Instead, the\u00a0Razer Kishi V2\u00a0mobile controller comes with the console , which provides the user with all the usual controls: sticks, D-pad, triggers and buttons.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/129_techweek.jpg\" alt=\" \" width=\"750\" height=\"539\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Edge is based on the Snapdragon G3x Gen 1 single-chip platform, developed by Qualcomm specifically for portable game consoles. Its characteristics are unknown, with the exception of the maximum frequency &#8211; 3 GHz.\u00a0Complementing the chip are 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128 GB of flash memory.\u00a0Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6E are supported.\u00a0Razer will also release a 5G version of the console.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/130_techweek.jpg\" alt=\" \" width=\"750\" height=\"310\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Razer Edge received a 5000 mAh battery, but the battery life was not announced.\u00a0There is also a front camera for streaming or video calls.\u00a0The Edge will come with pre-installed applications Xbox Cloud Gaming, NVIDIA GeForce Now, Epic Games Store and will support other services such as Steam Link.<\/p>\n<p>The standard Wi-Fi-only version of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.razer.com\/mobile-handhelds\/razer-edge\" rel=\"noopener\">Razer Edge<\/a> will go on sale in January for $399.\u00a0The cost of the 5G version of the novelty has not yet been reported, except that in the US it will work exclusively on Verizon networks.<\/p>\n<!--
