In 2022, LG began to gradually reduce the share of LG NanoCell 4K Ultra HD TVs in its total product portfolio.\u00a0This is done in favor of QNED displays, which combine Quantum Dot and NanoCell technologies with Mini LED backlighting.\u00a0The company refuses, first of all, from the older lines of LG NANO99 and NANO95, as well as NANO85.<\/p>\n

But since so far the 7th and 8th series of Nanocell TVs are represented by a sufficient number of options, it makes sense to compare them with each other for functional or design differences.\u00a0This will help those buyers who plan to buy LG NanoCell.\u00a0But first, let’s outline the differences between LG NanoCell 2022 and 2021.<\/p>\n

We note right away that there are no revolutionary changes.\u00a0Each year, LG updates the user interface – in 2022, all LG NANO models use\u00a0webOS 22\u00a0.\u00a0When it comes to the processing engine, the company has lumped all its models in this segment into the same category.\u00a0All models are now powered by the fifth generation \u03b15 processor.\u00a0The Game Dashboard game presets have been updated with a new sports mode.<\/p>\n

You can now choose the most suitable mode and set of settings for the video game genre directly in the Game Optimizer menu.\u00a0As for the appearance of the Nano Cell 2022 TVs, the changes have affected the shades of the case – the new products have a \u201cblue soot\u201d color.\u00a0We have listed the main differences, and now we will describe the differences between LG NanoCell 2022 among themselves.<\/p>\n

TVs LG NanoCell 2022 differences<\/h2>\n

Before talking about the differences, let’s dwell on the parameters that are the same for all 2022 Nano Cell TVs from LG.\u00a0Since 8K TVs have migrated to the QNED lineup, this year all Nano Cell models are 4K resolution, i.e.\u00a03840 x 2160. Dolby Vision is not supported in any series, only HDR10 Pro and HLG.\u00a0The screen refresh rate for all Nano Cell TVs is the same – 50 \/ 60 Hz.<\/p>\n

Design<\/h3>\n

With regard to the appearance of NANO 2022 TVs, the differences affect the appearance of the base and the color of the case.\u00a0The LG NANO73,\u00a0NANO75\u00a0, NANO77 and\u00a0NANO80\u00a0series models have V-shaped feet at the base.\u00a0Models LG NANO76, NANO78, NANO 81 and NANO82 rest on crescent-shaped (moon-shaped) stands.<\/p>\n

Matrix and backlight<\/h3>\n

50-inch and the vast majority of 43-inch models of all NanoCell lines are built on\u00a0VA matrices\u00a0.\u00a0They have high contrast, and hence the depth of black.\u00a0All other models are based on IPS matrices.\u00a0With contrast, things are worse for them, but color reproduction and viewing angles are at their best.<\/p>\n

One of the main differences NanoSel from each other is the backlight. The junior lines (7th series) NANO73, NANO75, NANO76, NANO77 and NANO78 use Direct LED backlight.\u00a0In the older lines (8th series) NANO80, NANO81 and NANO82, Edge side illumination is used.\u00a0But to increase the efficiency of its work in these lines, local dimming is used, ideally increasing contrast.<\/p>\n

Connections<\/h3>\n

This is the last area in which we can observe differences between NanoCell 2022 TVs. The switching capabilities of all lines differ only in the number of HDMI ports.\u00a0The younger models, starting with 7, have 3 of these ports. In the models of older lines, starting with 8, there are 4 of them. Note that all these are version 2.0 connectors.<\/p>\n
