The\u00a0chromeOS\u00a0PhoneHub feature\u00a0announced last year is getting some recent additional photos.\u00a0With the\u00a0chromeOS\u00a0103 update, you’ll be able to quickly access the latest photos you’ve taken with your phone on\u00a0PhoneHub\u00a0.\u00a0It’s an easy way to avoid emailing yourself a photo or digging through\u00a0Google Photos\u00a0to find the latest photos.\u00a0This works even when you are offline.<\/p>\n
Google\u00a0is also improving the\u00a0Nearby Share\u00a0feature to connect a\u00a0Chromebook\u00a0to any Wi-Fi network on an\u00a0Android\u00a0phone .\u00a0This will make things easier if a friend or family member has a\u00a0Chromebook\u00a0and needs to connect to your Wi-Fi, and it’s in line with\u00a0Apple’s\u00a0strong integration between\u00a0iOS devices\u00a0and\u00a0Macs\u00a0to easily share Wi-Fi passwords.<\/p>\n
In fact,\u00a0Google\u00a0‘s new additions to\u00a0chromeOS\u00a0this week are part of a broader effort to align\u00a0Apple’s\u00a0ecosystem integration with\u00a0Microsoft’s Phone Link\u00a0.\u00a0Google\u00a0is calling its Better Together initiative, and throughout 2022 it will roll out software features that improve the experience for\u00a0Android\u00a0,\u00a0Chromebooks\u00a0, and Bluetooth devices.<\/p>\n
Google\u00a0is working on a system so that any messaging app on your phone can be mirrored on a\u00a0Chromebook\u00a0, giving direct access to third-party messaging programs like\u00a0WhatsApp\u00a0and\u00a0Telegram\u00a0on a\u00a0Chromebook\u00a0.<\/p>\n
Google\u00a0‘s “Fast Pair”\u00a0framework will also make it easier to pair Bluetooth headphones this summer.\u00a0Chromebooks\u00a0will\u00a0automatically detect when a new pair of Bluetooth headphones is nearby, and a pop-up notification will make it easy to connect.\u00a0It’s similar to the easy pairing available on\u00a0Windows\u00a0or\u00a0AirPods\u00a0on\u00a0Mac\u00a0.<\/p>\n
