The\u00a0BMAX Y11 Plus<\/strong>\u00a0is a cost-efficient notebook that offers a refined style in combination with a 360 degree convertible design, which means that we can use the device as a tablet if we wish.\u00a0However, it’s important to keep in mind that this is a humble spec kit and we can only recommend it to those looking for a basic everyday computing experience.<\/p>\n

In this sense, the BMAX Y11 Plus mounts an 11.6-inch FHD touch screen and is powered by the Intel Jasper Lake N5100 chip in combination with 8GB of RAM.\u00a0It’s compact, lightweight, and boasts a metallic finish, all for a price below the $350 mark, which is really tempting if you’re looking for a device to take with you to school, the office, or perhaps on the road.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, if you are simply looking for an Android-based tablet, we may be able to recommend the\u00a0BMAX I11<\/strong>\u00a0from this same manufacturer.<\/p>\n

A portable design<\/h2>\n

Certainly the first thing we can highlight about this laptop is its\u00a0360 degree convertible design<\/strong>\u00a0, which allows it to take the form of a tablet, a tent and something in between.\u00a0However, this is just a gesture to attract attention, since at the end of the day the most useful positions are always the tablet and the computer position.<\/p>\n

The convertible design is not the only striking thing about the BMAX Y11 Plus, as\u00a0its body is well crafted<\/strong>\u00a0and stands out for its compact size and lightness.\u00a0In this order of ideas, it has a thickness of only 1.3mm and weighs only 1KG.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The choice of materials is really commendable, since we are talking about a\u00a0case made of aluminum alloy<\/strong>\u00a0that permeates most of the body.\u00a0We say most as the hinges are all-metal and the keyboard rest is made of plastic.\u00a0Similarly, the power and volume buttons that lie on the left edge are made of the same plastic material, but they feel robust and do not shake.<\/p>\n

It should be noted that it uses passive cooling, that is,\u00a0it does not have a fan and therefore it is very quiet<\/strong>\u00a0.\u00a0The downside is that it doesn’t allow the processor to maintain its maximum performance for very long and that obviously more heat is perceived at the bottom, an average of 45\u00b0C to be precise, which is not unreasonable for this class of devices.<\/p>\n

Switching gears a bit,\u00a0the keyboard isn’t full-size<\/strong>\u00a0, but it does its job decently.\u00a0Unfortunately it can be a bit difficult to see the keys, especially the function key, which is light blue.\u00a0It is also not a Spanish keyboard, so there is no letter \u00d1 marked.<\/p>\n

Screen<\/h2>\n

The screen is an 11.6-inch IPS panel that offers a decent\u00a0FHD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels<\/strong>\u00a0.\u00a0It should be noted that it is a touch panel with 10 pressure points and coverage of the\u00a072% NTSC<\/strong>\u00a0range .<\/p>\n

It’s not an amazing panel, but for the price it’s fine, even considering that\u00a0it’s not fully laminated<\/strong>\u00a0, which means there’s some palpable gap between screen and glass, but thankfully it’s little and doesn’t affect the panel’s responsiveness much.\u00a0The brightness is acceptable indoors,\u00a0270 nits<\/strong>\u00a0, but it is not enough if we want to use it under direct light, as light refractions are appreciated.<\/p>\n

The device also\u00a0boasts slim 8.80mm bezels<\/strong>\u00a0, but that’s only on the sides, given that it has a fairly prominent chin that breaks with the modern finish that this device seeks to achieve.\u00a0In said chin we will find the\u00a0webcam, terribly positioned<\/strong>\u00a0near the extreme right.\u00a0To add salt to the wound, its video recording quality is poor and limited to 15FPS, so it will hardly do any good.<\/p>\n

Hardware and features<\/h2>\n

The BMAX Y11 Plus is not a powerful device that we want to use for heavy tasks, but it guarantees an acceptable experience for basic computing.\u00a0That said, its nerve center is a\u00a02.8Ghz quad-core, 2.8Ghz Intel\u00ae Jasper Lake Celeron N5100<\/strong>\u00a0.\u00a0It is accompanied by an integrated 11th generation Intel UHD GPU, so it can decode 4K video at 60FPS with total smoothness.<\/p>\n

The chip is accompanied\u00a0by 8GB of RAM<\/strong>\u00a0, but in a single channel, which limits the maximum performance that the CPU can offer.\u00a0When it comes to internal storage, it consists of a\u00a0256GB SATA SSD<\/strong>\u00a0, of which 190GB is left free after installing all Windows updates and basic applications.<\/p>\n

The set is powered by a\u00a05,000mAh battery<\/strong>\u00a0whose duration leaves a lot to be desired, we are talking about\u00a03 to 4 hours<\/strong>\u00a0in the best of cases and that is with the screen brightness at half.<\/p>\n

As we mentioned before, it is not a powerful team, and the Geekbench Benchmarks confirm this, where it obtains only 1,632 points in the Multi-Core test and 614 in the single core.<\/p>\n

In another order of ideas, the operating system on duty is\u00a0Windows 10 64-bit<\/strong>\u00a0, but fortunately the BMAX Y11 Plus meets all the requirements to\u00a0upgrade to Windows 11.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Connectivity<\/h2>\n

For a budget laptop, the BMAX Y11 Plus is not bad in this respect, it has\u00a0dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2,<\/strong>\u00a0while on the wired front it has a modern\u00a0USB-C port with Power Delivery 2.0<\/strong>\u00a0(PD) that can be used to charge equipment or as video output.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

However, it has a dedicated power port and also a\u00a0Micro-HDMI output.\u00a0<\/strong>There’s an additional USB port, though it’s\u00a0Micro-USB 3.0<\/strong>\u00a0, which can be a major limitation for those who need full-size USB ports.\u00a0Lastly, it has a Micro-SD slot for memory cards and a 3.5mm combo jack.<\/p>\n
