Here comes the new year 2022.\u00a0If everything goes right, it will bring us a lot of good things, in particular, a bunch of new games.\u00a0For example, already in February Dying Light 2: Stay Human, Horizon Forbidden West and Elden Ring are released, and in March Gran Turismo 7 is waiting for us. And these are only the first months of the year!<\/p>\n

To be honest, when writing this material, difficulties arose, in the sense that choosing the ten most anticipated titles from the total mass of games preparing for release is another task.\u00a0But I did it.\u00a0My goal was to make exactly the top 10 games, so I had to give up something, many potentially good projects were not included in this list, but do not judge me strictly if some important game for you was not included in this material.<\/p>\n

Dying Light 2: Stay Human<\/h2>\n

Dying Light 2 is the sequel to the hit open-world zombie action game from Polish studio Techland.\u00a0Stay Human will take place in the European city of Villdor a few years after the epidemic shown in the first Dying Light.<\/p>\n

In general, the game will work on the ideas of the first part.\u00a0Who does not know, the main mechanics of Dying Light are first-person battles and parkour: the main character runs across rooftops, overcomes obstacles and fights zombies from time to time.\u00a0By the way, in the continuation, unlike the original, there will be no firearms – you will have to fight with the ghouls with your hands, feet and improvised means: batons, knives and other fittings.<\/p>\n

In Dying Light 2, parkour is implemented much more pleasantly, for example, the main character now responds to commands faster and clings to ledges more readily.\u00a0In addition, a glider will appear in the game, allowing you to soar between buildings.<\/p>\n

There will also be an immunity system in the game – it will become one of the most important components of night outings.\u00a0So, if the sun or an ultraviolet lamp does not shine on the character, his immunity decreases, after which there is not much time left to find the source of light, otherwise the hero will die.<\/p>\n

Factions will not go anywhere either, and the appearance of the city will depend to some extent on the choice of the player – who to help and who not.<\/p>\n

At the moment, Dying Light 2 looks like a bigger, friendlier, colorful and well-developed sequel to a good game.\u00a0Let’s wait and see what Techland will end up with.<\/p>\n

Horizon Forbidden West<\/h2>\n

What to expect from the sequel Horizon Zero Dawn?\u00a0It will be about the same continuation as in the case of the aforementioned Dying Light 2. In the sense that conceptually and in terms of gameplay, the game is unlikely to change much, but it will certainly not do without innovations.<\/p>\n

In the sequel, the beautiful Aloy will go to the west coast of the former USA.\u00a0We are waiting for new tests, mechanics, weapons, cars, tribes, characters and underwater locations of incredible beauty!<\/p>\n

Battles will become even larger and more diverse.\u00a0Also added to the game are the grappling hook and the wing shield, which will make moving around the world more dynamic.<\/p>\n

Naturally, the authors of the game have worked on the detailing of the world, facial animation and graphics in general – on PS5 the project should look phenomenal and use DualSense capabilities.<\/p>\n

I am sure that Horizon Forbidden West will be a great adventure, for which fans of the first part (and not only them) will spend dozens of exciting hours.<\/p>\n

Elden Ring<\/h2>\n

I really love FromSoftware games, and Elden Ring is of particular interest for several reasons.\u00a0First, it’s a FromSoftware game with all the consequences that entails.\u00a0Elden Ring has similar styling, gameplay, animations, and interface to previous games from the studio.\u00a0Is it good?\u00a0From my point of view, it’s not that bad.\u00a0FromSoftware’s latest game (Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice) came out in 2019, and during that time, I and many fans of such entertainment missed the signature atmosphere of insanity and hardcore.<\/p>\n

Secondly, George Martin, the creator of the A Song of Ice and Fire cycle, had a hand in creating the world and characters of Elden Ring.\u00a0How positively this will affect local history, we have yet to find out, but the very fact of the participation of such eminent writers in the project is of genuine interest.<\/p>\n

Thirdly, Elden Ring will bring some pretty significant innovations for the studio’s games.\u00a0For example, there will be an open world that you can freely explore, including on a horse – another novelty.\u00a0The horse is also useful during battles, especially with large opponents like dragons.<\/p>\n

In addition, stealth is expected – you will be able to kill enemies quietly.\u00a0Also, the game is expected to have a system of changing day and night, which will affect the gameplay, for example, some enemies will appear only at one time of the day.\u00a0And the main character now knows how to jump normally – also an important thing.<\/p>\n

Throw in chic level design and art, and you have one of the most hotly anticipated projects of the year!<\/p>\n

Gran Turismo 7<\/h2>\n

No matter what anyone says, but among the racing simulators there is only one king, and his name is Gran Turismo.\u00a0The release of each new game by Kazunori Yamauchi and his studio Polyphony Digital is perceived as a celebration on the street of car lovers and everything connected with them.<\/p>\n

In addition to dozens of meticulously recreated real-life (and fictional) tracks, Gran Turismo 7 will feature 400 different vehicles, including the rarest sports cars and long-discontinued historical models.\u00a0Each car will be worked out to the smallest detail, both outside and inside.\u00a0Several classes of racing, realistic physics of car behavior, gorgeous sound and dynamic change of weather and time of day are included.<\/p>\n

And they will also bring a spare parts store, which will allow you to use it for detailed tuning of machines.\u00a0The Driving Training Center is another important part of the game.\u00a0Here, beginners who have never been behind the wheel will be able to master basic driving skills.\u00a0Not without a full-fledged campaign.<\/p>\n

We also expect that the GT 7 will reveal the full power of the PS5 hardware, and the capabilities of the DualSense gamepad should also be used to the full: adaptive triggers and point vibrations beg for the racing genre.<\/p>\n

The new Gran Turismo should be the ultimate racing game that you just can’t miss if you care about cars.<\/p>\n

Starfield<\/h2>\n

A new role-playing game from Bethesda, but now with a space theme.\u00a0Despite the fact that the release is announced for November 11, we still have not been shown the gameplay, and there are no special details about the game.\u00a0Nevertheless, the developers are confident that Starfield will hit the shelves on time.\u00a0Well, let’s take our word for it.<\/p>\n

Apparently, we are waiting for a kind of mixture of Skyrim and Mass Effect.\u00a0Officially, the project is described as “a mixture of NASA, the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and Indiana Jones”, or as a “Han Solo simulator”.\u00a0The main focus will be on adventure and the spirit of exploration.<\/p>\n

According to the description of the game, the action will unfold in the XXIV century.\u00a0Gamers will take on the role of a member of the Constellation organization, which is engaged in space exploration.<\/p>\n

The game will give the opportunity to choose the backstory of your character, which supposedly will affect the events taking place in the game.\u00a0In addition, procedural generation will be used in Starfield to build locations.<\/p>\n

The RPG is created on a revised and improved version of the proprietary Creation Engine 2 – the game should look at least modern.<\/p>\n

God of War: Ragnar\u00f6k<\/h2>\n

God of War (2018) has been hailed as the top game of 2018 by many publications and gamers, and for good reason.\u00a0A beautiful and large-scale adventure of Kratos and his son Atreus, which skillfully exploits Scandinavian mythology: all these Thors, Freyas, J\u00f6rmungands, Mimirs and other Jotunheims look great in this game.<\/p>\n

God of War has also always been famous for its powerful and bloody action – in this regard, the game of 2018 reached its climax, if we talk about the series as a whole.\u00a0The battles turned out to be complex, evil and interesting, and exploring this outlandish world is no less exciting than fighting.<\/p>\n

Ragnar\u00f6k will be what is called a neat sequel.\u00a0That is, you should not expect any cardinal changes from the new game.\u00a0It will be a direct sequel to God of War (2018) and will borrow from his ideas.\u00a0However, the graphics will be improved (especially on PS5), the game will become even bigger and more spectacular, and the action will be even angrier.<\/p>\n

In addition, they will bring in new locations that were not available in the previous part, update the arsenal of weapons and skills, add new enemies, and the relationship between Kratos and his grown son will become even more complicated.\u00a0I am sure that at the end we will again get one of the best games of the year.<\/p>\n

Atomic Heart<\/h2>\n

The most ambitious and anticipated Russian project from the world of the gaming industry.\u00a0Thing from the Studio Mundfish at the same time reminiscent of the BioShock series, and Prey from Arkane.<\/p>\n

The action takes place in an alternative USSR (with all the ensuing consequences), which has achieved a lot in technology, but this played a cruel joke on it – smart robots rebelled and made chaos, and Major Nechaev, the protagonist of the game, will have to clean up its consequences.<\/p>\n

The gameplay is a mix of gunfights, hand-to-hand combat, QTEs, and relatively quiet moments where you have to explore atmospheric and colorful locations.\u00a0The player will have a choice where to go and what to do – no one is going to lead him by the hand.\u00a0A wide variety of enemies are expected – from small and large robots to strange creatures called Ivys.<\/p>\n

Another important aspect of Atomic Heart is the weapons.\u00a0It looks strange (like everything in this game) and it will have to be collected from improvised junk.<\/p>\n

The music for the game is written by the eminent Mick Gordon, known for DOOM (2016) and DOOM Eternal.\u00a0An interesting fact: under the contract, the composer is obliged to use a Soviet synthesizer when writing a soundtrack for the game, and this is \u201can interesting creative task,\u201d Mik explained.<\/p>\n

In general, at the moment the game looks very intriguing.\u00a0Let’s keep our fingers crossed for the guys – they should succeed.\u00a0There is no release date for Atomic Heart yet, but the developers assured that \u201cthere is not long to wait\u201d, this year we will definitely see the game.<\/p>\n

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II<\/h2>\n
