{"id":141086,"date":"2022-01-26T21:46:29","date_gmt":"2022-01-26T21:46:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.techweekmag.com\/?p=141086"},"modified":"2024-03-05T04:20:38","modified_gmt":"2024-03-05T04:20:38","slug":"heavys-headphones-eight-heavy-metal-tuned-drivers-anc-and-hearing-protection","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/headphones\/heavys-headphones-eight-heavy-metal-tuned-drivers-anc-and-hearing-protection\/","title":{"rendered":"Heavys Headphones: Eight heavy metal-tuned drivers, ANC and hearing protection"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Heavys\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.heavys.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">were created<\/a>\u00a0specifically for lovers of heavy music.\u00a0The engineers who worked on the model assured that they provided absolutely everything, including the frequency range, dynamic performance and ear protection even when played at high volume.<\/p>\n<p>Heavys was developed by Axel Grell, an engineer with 30 years of experience working on the Sennheiser HD series headphones.\u00a0Startup Heavys brought in Axel to make &#8220;the ultimate heavy metal listening tool.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/170_techweek.jpg\" width=\"687\" height=\"840\" \/><figcaption><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In total, overhead wireless Heavys received eight speakers &#8211; four per cup.\u00a0The crossovers distributed the signal in the following way: woofers are fed to two special woofers, midrange to two midranges, and there are four tweeters for treble.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;trick&#8221; of the tweeters is that they are located separately from the other emitters: the tweeters are placed in a separate module, located not on the side, but opposite (in front) of the auricle.\u00a0As the manufacturer explained, this gave &#8220;incredibly realistic imagery.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>As for connecting to sources, the metal headphones are equipped with Bluetooth 5.1 BLE with SBC, AAC, atpX Adaptive and LHDC codecs, as well as connectors for USB and 3.5 mm cables.\u00a0In wireless mode, the headphones should last up to 50 hours on a single charge.\u00a0The headphones are equipped with active noise cancellation with a transparent mode.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/171_techweek.jpg\" width=\"1600\" height=\"900\" \/><figcaption><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The startup made a separate emphasis on the patented hearing protection technology.\u00a0According to the company, the headphones will sound powerful and \u201cany way\u201d loud, but without harm to the ears.<\/p>\n<p>As of today, the Heavys Metal Headphones\u00a0are available\u00a0via Kickstarter for $150 (temporary price).\u00a0It is worth noting that the startup expected to raise $20,000 through crowdfunding, but has already raised more than $500,000.\u00a0Apparently, fans of heavy music liked the idea.\u00a0The Kickstarter campaign will end in early March.\u00a0Deliveries of headphones promised to begin in August.<\/p>\n<p>[ratemypost]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Heavys\u00a0were created\u00a0specifically for lovers of heavy music.\u00a0The engineers who worked on the model assured that they provided absolutely everything, including the frequency range, dynamic performance and ear protection even when played at high volume.
