D’Agostino has updated its Momentum amplifiers.\u00a0Two new\u00a0additions are the Momentum M400 MxV Mono<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0Momentum S250 MvX<\/a>\u00a0stereo\u00a0power adapter<\/a>\u00a0.\u00a0They are issued in the same cases as before – only the design of massive arrow indicators has been updated.\u00a0Not only that, existing models can be upgraded to the M400 MxV Mono and S250 MvX versions.<\/p>\n

Momentum models became the foundations for D’Agostino – the Momentum all-in-one was the first product designed and manufactured by the company.\u00a0Now the new items are equipped with transformers, the winding scheme of which has saved half of the occupied area.\u00a0The transformer power of the Momentum M400 MxV has reached 1,800 VA – compared to its predecessor, its output current has increased by almost half.<\/p>\n

This transformer is complemented by a capacitor bank with a capacity of almost 100,000 \u03bcF.\u00a0As a result, the power adapter will deliver an output power of 400\/800\/1 600 W when working with 8\/4\/2 ohm speakers.\u00a0For the S250 MvX, this is 250W into 8 ohms, 500W into 4 ohms, and 1,000W into 2 ohms.\u00a0True, the signal-to-noise ratio of the M400 MxV Mono was 115 dB, while that of the Momentum S250 was “only” 105 dB.<\/p>\n

According to the manufacturer, the bipolar transistors powering the input stage provided Momentum amplifiers with ten times more current and power than previous models.\u00a0At the same time, additional power transistors in the output stage reduced the load.\u00a0The damping coefficient of new products is indicated by the value of the output resistance – 1 mOhm.\u00a0The input signal is received on balanced XLR connectors.<\/p>\n

The high-current transistors used in the updated Momentum are considered by D’Agostino to be one of the fastest currently available. They are rigorously selected before installation. The Momentum M400 MxV uses 26 such transistors that operate at frequencies up to 69 MHz.\u00a0Each transistor is attached to copper venturi heatsinks with two stainless steel pieces.<\/p>\n

According to D’Agostino, “Thermal issues in the Momentum M400 MxV amplifiers are of little concern.” Both Momentum new items are available in a silver \/ gold finish, while a silver \/ black version is available upon request. The cost of D’Agostino Momentum M400 MxV Mono and Momentum S250 MvX power amplifiers has yet to be announced.<\/p>\n
