With the acquisition of UK company RHA Audio, which just changed its name to Origin North Ltd, Sonos may be\u00a0targeting<\/a>\u00a0headphones.\u00a0This direction is not yet represented in the company’s portfolio, although rumors of its appearance sometimes appear.<\/p>\n

So far, it is known for sure that the American manufacturer of\u00a0multi\u00a0–\u00a0room\u00a0audio has acquired a controlling stake in RHA Audio from Glasgow, known for its headphones – in particular, the\u00a0TrueConnect\u00a0and\u00a0TrueConnect 2\u00a0models\u00a0.\u00a0This speaks of full access to RHA know-how and technology, so now everything is ready for the production of Sonos headphones.<\/p>\n

They are rumored to\u00a0get\u00a0the same “Swap” feature (and button) as the\u00a0Sonos Roam\u00a0– allowing them to “pick up” sound from the nearest Sonos device.\u00a0However, the developments of RHA Audio may well complement the proprietary achievements of Sonos.\u00a0True, according to rumors, Sonos headphones will be full-size, while RHA specializes in in-ear models – but the company’s experience may be useful in the development of such a device.<\/p>\n

Naturally, future\u00a0Sonos headphones are\u00a0hard to imagine without voice assistant control, convenient volume control and other functions, including telephony microphones.\u00a0The novelty is expected to repeat the convenience and benefits of Sonos multi-room devices in a miniature headphone version.<\/p>\n
