{"id":131600,"date":"2021-05-27T20:14:57","date_gmt":"2021-05-27T19:14:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.techweekmag.com\/?p=131600"},"modified":"2021-05-27T20:14:57","modified_gmt":"2021-05-27T19:14:57","slug":"marantz-av8805a-preamp-with-enhanced-audio-and-picture-performance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/hi-fi\/marantz-av8805a-preamp-with-enhanced-audio-and-picture-performance\/","title":{"rendered":"Marantz AV8805A: Preamp with Enhanced Audio and Picture Performance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Marantz introduces the new <b>Marantz AV8805A<\/b>\u00a013.2 channel processor \/ pre-amplifier\u00a0with 8K video and HDMI version 2.1 support.<\/p>\n<p>The AV8805A model is a seriously upgraded version of the AV8805 model, and now supports 8K \/ 60Hz and 4K \/ 120Hz video, HDR10 +, Dynamic HDR, HDCP 2.3, and a number of other technologies that allow you to use all the capabilities of the HDMI 2.1 standard with a bandwidth of 40 Gb \/ s without any -or restrictions.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/mz_av8805A_n_f_k_b_st_op_001_lo_IMAX-600-279.jpg\" alt=\"Marantz Unveils AV8805A Processor \/ Preamp with Enhanced Audio and Picture Performance\" width=\"600\" height=\"279\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In keeping with Marantz&#8217;s commitment to providing maximum customer support, current owners of the original Marantz AV8805 will be able to upgrade their model&#8217;s HDMI board to the AV8805A specification by contacting an authorized Marantz dealer.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Lots of multichannel sound options<\/h4>\n<p>The AV8805A provides a variety of DTS: X Pro\u00ae multi-channel surround sound options, allowing up to 13 channels of DTS: X mode to be used in a variety of speaker configurations such as 7.2.6 or 9.2.4.\u00a0The same configurations can be used for IMAX Enhanced mode as well.<\/p>\n<p>Other supported surround formats include Dolby Atmos\u00ae, Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization Technology, DTS: X\u00ae, DTS Virtual: X \u2122, IMAX\u00ae Enhanced, and Auro-3D\u00ae.<\/p>\n<p>For those who have not yet installed additional &#8220;ceiling&#8221;
