{"id":130966,"date":"2021-05-17T20:54:17","date_gmt":"2021-05-17T19:54:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.techweekmag.com\/?p=130966"},"modified":"2021-05-17T20:54:17","modified_gmt":"2021-05-17T19:54:17","slug":"shanling-em5-and-ea5-all-in-one-compact-home-audio-streaming-systems","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/hi-fi\/shanling-em5-and-ea5-all-in-one-compact-home-audio-streaming-systems\/","title":{"rendered":"Shanling EM5 and EA5: All-in-one compact home audio streaming systems"},"content":{"rendered":"<header class=\"news-header\">The Chinese company Shanling has <a href=\"https:\/\/en.shanling.com\/article-EM5-EA5.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">decided to go back<\/a>\u00a0to basics with the Shanling EM5 and Shanling EA5 all-in-one streamers, the first models in the Shanling Desktop Line.\u00a0They are classified by the manufacturer as home audio systems &#8211; as opposed to portable, which is also a lot in the Shanling catalog.\u00a0The EM5 has been labeled a &#8220;streaming DAC \/ amplifier&#8221; and the EA5 has been called a &#8220;music steaming center.&#8221;<\/header>\n<p>Both new products work as DLNA certified streaming clients.\u00a0Both support Apple AirPlay and are ready to receive audio from multiple streaming series.\u00a0In addition, both devices have a Bluetooth module on board for receiving audio from mobile gadgets.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/884ad63-36df-47f7-8e5b-33cd088d4ccd.jpg\" width=\"641\" height=\"431\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>The Shanling EM5 streaming DAC \/ Amp is primarily aimed at headphone owners.\u00a0The onboard amplifier is compatible with models of a wide variety of impedances, including balanced connections (XLR and 4.4 mm balanced jack).\u00a0The EM5 also has all the functions of a pre-amplifier &#8211; in addition, it can be used as a DAC for full-size systems.<\/p>\n<header class=\"news-header\">Shanling EA5 Music Streaming Center is a complete home amplifier system &#8211; you just need to connect speakers. A headphone output is also available here, but only in an unbalanced 6.3 mm stereo jack.
