&#8211; let&#8217;s figure it out in the Sony HT-S700RF review.<\/p>\n<h2>Sony HT-S700RF &#8211; overview<\/h2>\n<p>The soundbar has a pair of speakers at either end of the center panel and a pair of tweeter blocks.\u00a0A separate 20cm subwoofer takes care of the bass.\u00a0In addition, the set includes a pair of remote speakers, which should be located at the back of the room.<\/p>\n<h3>Design<\/h3>\n<p>The soundbar design is not ostentatious.\u00a0The system located near the TV does not draw attention to itself.\u00a0The soundbar features an embossed diamond-shaped front metal grille for a sleek and stylish look.\u00a0The rear speakers and subwoofer are finished in matt black.<\/p>\n<p>They look simple and elegant.\u00a0The quality of the materials used is excellent.\u00a0Feels brand chic.\u00a0The soundbar itself is devoid of any buttons.\u00a0All controls are located at the top of the subwoofer.\u00a0There are five buttons for control: one to turn on the power, one to change the source, two to control the volume, and one to pair with Bluetooth.<\/p>\n<p>The front panel of the subwoofer has a USB connector through which you can play music and video from a USB storage device.\u00a0Files are navigated using the Sony Music Center app.\u00a0The subwoofer power supply is built-in.\u00a0There is a power supply for the soundbar itself.\u00a0A dedicated Bluetooth button is available on the remote in addition to the one on the subwoofer.<\/p>\n<p>When you press any of these buttons, the system automatically tries to connect to previously paired devices and then enters pairing mode if there are no \u201cpast connections\u201d.\u00a0The soundbar and rear speakers are wired to the subwoofer.\u00a0Of course, modern soundbars &#8220;prefer&#8221; wireless installation for the same price.\u00a0So get ready to hide the wires.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/ultrahd.su-Sony-HT-S700RF-obzor.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7238\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/ultrahd.su-Sony-HT-S700RF-obzor.jpg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/ultrahd.su-Sony-HT-S700RF-obzor.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/ultrahd.su-Sony-HT-S700RF-obzor-300x180.jpg 300w\" alt=\"Sony HT-S700RF review\" width=\"700\" height=\"419\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Capabilities<\/h3>\n<p>The remote is weighty and well built.\u00a0The buttons are made of rubber, not soft.\u00a0In addition to the usual power, Bluetooth, input and volume buttons, there is a menu button, an input button, playback controls, and buttons to control the intensity of the subwoofer.\u00a0There are five presets of sound modes.<\/p>\n<p>Each mode has a separate button on the remote control: Voice, Night, Music, Cinema and Standard.\u00a0While Bluetooth 4.2 is a relevant feature, the system does not support LDAC, aptX or aptX HD (high quality audio streaming codecs), which is a shame for Sony.\u00a0There is support for the AAC format, but it is not a hit of the season.\u00a0NFC is absent, for this price range this is a minus.<\/p>\n<h3>Sound<\/h3>\n<p>Three front and two rear speakers deliver 150W each.\u00a0The subwoofer is rated for 240 watts.\u00a0Sony Stable speakers conceived with strong bass-oriented directivity.\u00a0But you will be pleasantly surprised by the clarity of sound provided by the HT-S700RF soundbar.\u00a0No one frequency range dominates the others.\u00a0The bass is clear and pronounced and without overabundance in the sound space.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/ultrahd.su-Sony-HT-S700RF-sabwufer.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-7240\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/ultrahd.su-Sony-HT-S700RF-sabwufer-700x416.jpg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/ultrahd.su-Sony-HT-S700RF-sabwufer-700x416.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/ultrahd.su-Sony-HT-S700RF-sabwufer-300x178.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/ultrahd.su-Sony-HT-S700RF-sabwufer-768x457.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/ultrahd.su-Sony-HT-S700RF-sabwufer.jpg 1009w\" alt=\"Sony HT-S700RF subwoofer and remote control\" width=\"700\" height=\"416\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The soundstage is excellent.\u00a0The two rear speakers deliver great sound throughout the room.\u00a0Crisp and expressive mids are one of the highlights of this soundbar.\u00a0The dialogues in the films are intense.\u00a0They don&#8217;t get lost in the usual sea of \u200b\u200bexplosions or background music.\u00a0If you prefer quality dialogue in movies or TV shows, then the Sony HT-S700RF is a good choice.<\/p>\n<p>Xbox \u00a0games often have amazing soundtracks and the rear speakers and a subwoofer complement the &#8216;heavy soundstages&#8217; perfectly. The Sony HT-S700RF soundbar plays great music tracks, although the lack of support for a &#8220;high definition&#8221; audio codec is a major problem (even with a Bluetooth connection).<\/p>\n<p>The sound signature is quite balanced and the soundbar handles almost all musical genres with ease.\u00a0The crisp treble is well suited for rock and metal, while the expressive midrange for blues listening is a distinct pleasure.\u00a0For those who prefer room-shaking bass, consider the JBL Cinema SB450.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/ultrahd.su-Sony-HT-S700RF-kommutacija.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-7239\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/ultrahd.su-Sony-HT-S700RF-kommutacija-700x585.jpg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/ultrahd.su-Sony-HT-S700RF-kommutacija.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/ultrahd.su-Sony-HT-S700RF-kommutacija-300x251.jpg 300w\" alt=\"Sony HT-S700RF connectivity\" width=\"700\" height=\"585\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Interfaces<\/h3>\n<p>There is one HDMI port with ARC (Audio Return Channel) support, so pairing with your TV is easy.\u00a0The soundbar has an additional 3.5mm jack, optical S \/ PDIF input and the aforementioned USB port.\u00a0At least the manufacturer could add one additional HDMI port and an optical input &#8211; that would be great.<\/p>\n<h3>Conclusion<\/h3>\n<p>Sony HT-S700RF\u00a0 &#8220;Home Cinema Soundbar&#8221; is a very good home theater system that will do its job.
