{"id":128764,"date":"2021-04-18T11:10:21","date_gmt":"2021-04-18T10:10:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.techweekmag.com\/?p=128764"},"modified":"2021-04-18T11:11:31","modified_gmt":"2021-04-18T10:11:31","slug":"rel-t-9x-t-7x-and-t-5x-subwoofers-with-updated-emitters-and-housings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/speakers\/rel-t-9x-t-7x-and-t-5x-subwoofers-with-updated-emitters-and-housings\/","title":{"rendered":"REL T\/9x, T\/7x and T\/5x: Subwoofers with Updated Emitters and Housings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>REL Acoustics has\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/rel.net\/product-category\/powered-subwoofers\/serie-tx\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">unveiled a<\/a>\u00a0new series of T \/ x subwoofers, consisting of three models: the entry-grade T \/ 5x, the mid-range T \/ 7x and the flagship T \/ 9x.<\/p>\n<p>The company explained that the new series is the next step in development.\u00a0Fresh models received updated amplifiers, cabinets and drivers.<\/p>\n<p>The largest and most powerful model, the T \/ 9x (from 27Hz) should handle both music and movies equally well.\u00a0The sub was equipped with a 10-inch active radiator on the front panel and a passive one directed to the floor.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"big\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"big\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/7554cfbc65065c8d54d2dcce6f67edba.jpg\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>The T \/ 7x (from 30Hz) has the same configuration, but the main speaker is 8 &#8220;(passive 10&#8221;).\u00a0The younger T \/ 5x (from 32 Hz) received only one active downward-firing emitter at 8 inches.<\/p>\n<p>All three new products feature FibreAlloy speakers and extended travel suspensions.\u00a0To ensure that the subwoofers feel confident at any volume and in any room, the engineers have provided steel bases.\u00a0The body received a five-layer coating.<\/p>\n<p>The company paid special attention to the filters, which were tuned for a cleaner, more detailed and transparent sound.\u00a0The same filters are used in the S-series.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"big\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"big\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/635b2a897171a6d587cde9d38ddcb962.jpg\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>In terms of amplification, all three subwoofers of the T \/ x series received proprietary A \/ B-class modules.\u00a0The power of the flagship model T \/ 9x was 300 W, T \/ 7x &#8211; 200 W, T \/ 5x &#8211; 125 W.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of connectivity, the subwoofers are equipped with Neutrik Speakon connectors, low-level inputs and LFE.\u00a0For wireless connection, you will need an additional proprietary REL Arrow module.<\/p>\n<p>In the UK market, the T \/ 9x was \u00a3 1,300, the T \/ 7x was asked for \u00a3 1,000 and the T \/ 5x is available at \u00a3 650.<\/p>\n<p>[ratemypost]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>REL Acoustics has\u00a0unveiled a\u00a0new series of T \/ x subwoofers, consisting of three models: the entry-grade T \/ 5x, the mid-range T \/ 7x and the flagship T \/ 9x.
