German brand\u00a0Violectric\u00a0, owned by renowned professional audio equipment manufacturer\u00a0Lake People Electronic\u00a0, has unveiled the\u00a0HPA V550\u00a0headphone amplifier\u00a0and its advanced version, the\u00a0HPA V550 PRO.<\/p>\n

The new amplifiers include many solutions from the professional field. For example, the increased supply voltage zmakes it easy to handle high-impedance loads. The amplifiers have a stepwise change in the gain level using DIP switches on the back of the case for optimal matching of the characteristics of the output stages with a specific headphone model.<\/p>\n

\"Violectric<\/p>\n

The amplifiers are equipped with two pairs of\u00a0RCA\u00a0unbalanced analog inputs\u00a0and a pair of balanced\u00a0XLR inputs\u00a0.\u00a0There are also two analog outputs, balanced and unbalanced, which allow the components to be used as pre-amplifiers.\u00a0There are a pair of 6.3 mm jacks and a balanced 4-pin\u00a0XLR\u00a0for connecting headphones on the front panel\u00a0.\u00a0Nearby are the input and output selector keys, as well as two rotary knobs for channel balance and volume controls.<\/p>\n

The volume control is the only difference between the\u00a0HPA V550\u00a0and\u00a0HPA V550 PRO\u00a0.\u00a0In the first case, the task of changing the volume level is assigned to the\u00a0ALPS RK 27\u00a0potentiometer\u00a0with a servo drive.\u00a0The version with the\u00a0PRO\u00a0suffix\u00a0is equipped with a step regulator (256 positions) that switches the reed relay unit.<\/p>\n
