Humanity has become one step closer to the future, which was shown in “The Jetsons” and “Back to the Future 2”, where there was a place for flying cars.\u00a0This is not technically a car, as it lacks the mechanisms to enable it to drive on the road.\u00a0It would be more correct to call such an invention VTOL – a vertical take-off and landing vehicle, but the term “flying machine” is still used in literature and cinema.\u00a0Airspeeder Mk3 is one of them, created by a team of brands such as McLaren, Boeing, Jaguar, Rolls-Royce and Brabham.<\/p>\n

The Airspeeder Mk3 is a full-size, remote-controlled electric vehicle designed specifically for racing in the so-called aerial motorsport.\u00a0A series of such Airspeeders are expected to be built in Australia and will be delivered to teams participating in the air races this year.<\/p>\n

This particular model is made of carbon fiber (frame and fuselage), and inside is an electric transmission with a 96 kW engine, driving a 100-kg unmanned car.\u00a0The company says the Airspeeder Mk3 is capable of speeds in excess of 120 km \/ h.\u00a0The machine is equipped with eight rotors, thanks to which it is extremely maneuverable and can perform sharp turns like a Formula 1 car.\u00a0The X-shaped design also provides better safety in the event of rotor failure or power problems.<\/p>\n

Each of the Mk3 models will be equipped with a quick-change battery sled.\u00a0Of course, all of this will take place on the ground, and not in the air in the style of the Fast and Furious movie franchise.\u00a0The company is already looking to the future and is developing the Airspeeder Mk4, which will feature a carbon fiber monocoque to accommodate a human.<\/p>\n
