design \" width=\"700\" height=\"328\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Brave 7 LE camera itself looks good, which belies its budget origins.\u00a0In\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/videokamery\/gopro-hero-8-obzor.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">terms<\/a>\u00a0of size, it is slightly smaller than the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/videokamery\/gopro-hero-8-obzor.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hero8<\/a>\u00a0if not placed inside a waterproof case.\u00a0The outer glass of the lens seems to be replaceable, but hardly with your own hands.\u00a0There is a large 2-inch touchscreen on the back and a\u00a0GoPro Hero9\u00a0style selfie screen on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/videokamery\/gopro-hero-9-black-obzor.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">front<\/a>\u00a0.\u00a0A useful addition.<\/p>\n<p>The body of the Brave 7 LE camcorder is IPX7 waterproof.\u00a0In practice, this means that it can withstand immersion to a depth of 1 m for up to 30 minutes.\u00a0Should be suitable for some water sports.\u00a0It&#8217;s still better to use an external plastic waterproof case.\u00a0I would like all action cameras to get rid of the need for such a case.<\/p>\n<p>The bottom panel of the Brave 7 action camera has a standard base for a tripod screw.\u00a0Not everyone might like it.\u00a0The fact is that action cameras are primarily designed for active sports.\u00a0There is a very good reason why there is a GoPro mount and there are no tripod screw mounts.\u00a0And this is because there is no standardization of screw depth.<\/p>\n<p>Ultimately, you need either an adjustable collar on the mounting base to align the camera, or the ability to rotate on the mount itself.\u00a0Under extreme loads, the standard screw base is not reliable.\u00a0Plus, buying a GoPro adapter is a snap if you really need one.<\/p>\n<h3>Functionality<\/h3>\n<p>The Brave 7 LE is a budget camera, so it lacks the fancy modes found in more expensive alternatives.\u00a0The camera is designed for users on a budget who want to easily shoot and edit without being confused by the many settings and adjustments.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/02-stereoindex.com\/tech-akaso-brave-7-obzor.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-8464\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/02-stereoindex.com\/tech-akaso-brave-7-obzor-700x571.jpg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/02-stereoindex.com\/tech-akaso-brave-7-obzor-700x571.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/02-stereoindex.com\/tech-akaso-brave-7-obzor-300x245.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/02-stereoindex.com\/tech-akaso-brave-7-obzor-768x627.jpg 768w\" alt=\"Akaso Brave 7 LE - overview\" width=\"700\" height=\"571\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The highest resolution the camera is capable of is 4K UHD @ 30fps.\u00a0Although it can do 2.7K at 60fps and 1080p at up to 120fps.\u00a0In the latter modes, stabilization is not available.\u00a0The recording quality can be set to high, medium or low.\u00a0These settings can be changed from the main menu.<\/p>\n<p>There is electronic stabilization, although it is cut off a bit.\u00a0It is also possible to turn on distortion correction to get rid of the fisheye effect.\u00a0But here you have to sacrifice stabilization.\u00a0There are video-based slow motion and fast motion modes.\u00a0Photos are limited to 20MP in JPG format, not RAW.<\/p>\n<p>The touch screen is very responsive.\u00a0It sometimes seems to be more responsive than Hero8.\u00a0It is bright, easily distinguishable in the sun.\u00a0The display is very easy to read and clearly shows the current settings and modes.\u00a0While holding down the mode button, you switch from the rear to the front screen.\u00a0Akaso&#8217;s camera startup time is very fast &#8211; about 3 seconds from the moment you press the power button.<\/p>\n<p>The front screen of the Akaso Brave 7 is square and the camera does not perform any aspect correction.\u00a0But the camera settings are also displayed here, so you don&#8217;t have to guess or risk forgetting which mode is on.\u00a0The camera can be controlled from Akaso&#8217;s own mobile app.\u00a0The camera connects to it quickly and easily.<\/p>\n<h3>Using the camera<\/h3>\n<p>Apart from adjusting the compression, there is little you can do to adjust the image on the Brave 7 LE.\u00a0The camera records data with H.264 codec, which will simplify the work of ordinary users.\u00a0Although, even with high quality, recording is limited to a bitrate of 50 Mbps.\u00a0For the H.264 codec in 4K, this is quite small, although it saves space on the card.<\/p>\n<p>We did not notice any glitches or overheating of the camera.\u00a0In fact, one of the nicest features of the camera is its battery life.\u00a0We are used to action cameras that only run for about an hour before running out of battery with a huge amount of processing and great possibilities.\u00a0The Brave 7 LE can last almost two hours in recording mode.<\/p>\n<h3>Image quality<\/h3>\n<p>In good light, Brave 7 gives a clear picture.\u00a0It suffers a little from excessive edge enhancement, and there is no way to reduce it.\u00a0The aforementioned bitrate limitation results in noticeable artifacts in complex details such as trees or moving objects.\u00a0The H.265 codec would solve this problem in many ways.<\/p>\n<p>However, the colors seem to be pretty good.\u00a0While the image looks too contrasty and too warm in terms of color temperature.\u00a0But for the user the camera is targeting, these things are likely to remain subtle.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/03-stereoindex.com\/tech-akaso-brave-7-korpus.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-8465\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/03-stereoindex.com\/tech-akaso-brave-7-korpus-700x388.jpg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/03-stereoindex.com\/tech-akaso-brave-7-korpus-700x388.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/03-stereoindex.com\/tech-akaso-brave-7-korpus-300x166.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/03-stereoindex.com\/tech-akaso-brave-7-korpus-768x426.jpg 768w\" alt=\"Akaso Brave 7 LE -
