TCL has introduced the innovative NXTPAPER 3.0 glare-free display technology. The company claims that it has been optimized and is aimed at maintaining vision health.
The new type of “glare-free” display is more paper-like than a regular display, but it’s not exactly E-Ink display technology. The company explained that it is still a Circularly Polarized Light (CPL) LCD display, which mimics the emission/reflection/refraction path of natural light, creating the visual effect of reading books in natural light.
NXTPAPER technology filters out harmful blue light by 61% while maintaining sharp images, deep contrast, vibrant colors and natural movement.
The NXTPAPER display will also remind users to take a break (20 second break every 20 minutes). The software also has the ability to detect poor lighting and determine if the wearer is too close to the screen.
The new technology features a higher refresh rate and DC Dimming for flicker-free viewing. The display also features an RGB sensor with improved adaptive color temperature.
NXTPAPER 3.0 technology will be used in the NXTPAPER 14 Pro, TAB 10 NXTPAPER 5G tablets and 50 series smartphones announced at the ongoing CES 2024. All devices will come with the NXTPAPER 3.0 3-in-1 VersaView user interface, optimized for various scenarios.
The first is Normal mode for normal use with low blue light and no yellow tint. The second is a low-contrast colored paper mode for reading comics. The third is the black and white Ink Paper mode for comfortable reading of e-books.
