The latest iteration of Sonus faber Concertino G4 bookshelf speakers integrates contemporary technology with enduring principles of authentic sound and artisanship, featuring an exclusive plant-derived leather substitute from Italian startup Ohoskin. The initial 300 sets of Concertino G4 monitors will debut as a distinctive Maestro edition, showcasing a distinct serial number engraved on a brass plaque on the speaker’s natural walnut panel.

The primary feature of the Sonus faber Concertino G4 bookshelf monitors is the utilization of cork in its cabinet construction, a material also found in the Suprema and Sonetto series speakers. By incorporating cork with a midwoofer, the Concertino G4 design represents a notable improvement in sound quality, all while retaining the distinctive trapezoidal cabinet shape that effectively mitigates internal resonances and minimizes the necessity for extra damping material within the cabinet.

The Sonus faber Concertino G4 monitors have side panels crafted from solid walnut with ribbed surfaces, enhancing structural rigidity without the need for internal bracing. The cork base and front panel are covered in recycled leather and plant-based alternative leather from startup Ohoskin, lending the Concertino G4 an elegant and refined aesthetic. Sonus faber’s collaboration with Ohoskin has resulted in the introduction of a 100% Made in Italy coated textile fabric made from orange and cactus by-products, offering a sustainable and high-quality alternative to traditional natural leather.

Additional components utilized in the speaker’s assembly consist of an aluminum ring surrounding the silk dome tweeter, a walnut bass reflex port, speaker terminals plated with brass, and wooden stands.

The Sonus faber Concertino G4 bookshelf speakers feature a 1-inch silk dome tweeter with DAD technology and a 5-inch paper pulp diffuser midwoofer in a two-way system. The speakers are designed with a phase-inverted acoustic layout and a rear port for optimal performance.

The Sonus faber Concertino G4 bookshelf speakers are accompanied by custom stands that enhance the overall aesthetic of the speakers. Crafted from IPE 120X64 timber, the stands maintain the speakers’ proportions while adding an industrial touch. Additionally, the stands are accented with natural walnut veneer inserts for a stylish finish.

The Sonus faber Concertino G4 bookshelf monitors are scheduled to be released in September 2024. The suggested retail price for the upcoming product will be $4,750 for a pair of speakers. Additionally, the branded stands will be available for an extra $1,500 per pair.
