Radiant Acoustics Clarity 4.2: High-End Sound in a Compact Design

Radiant Acoustics Clarity 4.2
Radiant Acoustics Clarity 4.2

Danish loudspeaker manufacturer Radiant Acoustics has introduced the Clarity 4.2, a compact two-way speaker that serves as a smaller variant of the Clarity 6.2. The designers claim that the Clarity 4.2 offers a complete high-end audio experience with remarkable low bass and pristine sound quality, all within its compact dimensions. The Clarity 4.2 comes in three different models.

The Clarity 4.2 represents the latest advancement in Danish Radiant Acoustics’ commitment to making premium hi-fi sound accessible without sacrificing quality. Building upon the success of the Clarity 6.2, this new compact speaker offers remarkable bass, impressive dynamic range, and distortion-free audio performance, all within a design that integrates effortlessly into any home environment. Explore our review of the Radiant Acoustics Clarity 6.2.

Equipped with cutting-edge components and the same level of precise engineering as the 6.2, the Clarity 4.2 features 4-inch Purifi Ushindi woofers, dual passive radiators, and a fully symmetrical AMT tweeter, setting a new standard for speakers of its size. It produces deep, controlled bass that extends down to 40Hz, along with a clear and immersive soundstage.

Our objective was straightforward yet ambitious. We aimed to harness the groundbreaking low-distortion driver technology of the Clarity 6.2 and refine it into the finest compact, high-performance speaker available, all while keeping costs low. The outcome is the Clarity 4.2, an ultra-compact speaker that embodies the essence and impact of a system twice its size,” states founder Peter Lyngdorf, a prominent name in the hi-fi industry.

Each component of Clarity 4.2 is meticulously designed to produce exceptionally clear and accurate sound. The 4-inch Purifi Ushindi woofer, along with two complementary passive radiators, effectively eliminates port noise while delivering tight and musical bass. The advanced AMT tweeter skillfully uncovers intricate details and provides impressive dynamic range and smooth sound dispersion, even beyond the conventional listening area. The crossover network is built using carefully chosen audiophile-grade parts and rigorously tested to achieve minimal distortion and optimal transparency. The cabinet, constructed from 15-millimeter MDF with internal bracing and Basotect acoustic foam, features a 12-millimeter-thick CNC-machined aluminum front that ensures both strength and resonance control.

Designed and Made in Denmark

Similar to the larger 6.2 model, the Clarity 4.2 is manufactured and tested in Denmark. Each unit is subjected to thorough quality assurance through sophisticated measurement systems, guaranteeing performance that not only meets but surpasses expectations right from the start and continues to do so for years. Although compact, the Clarity 4.2 delivers rich, detailed sound that can fill most spaces, making it perfect for both immersive listening experiences and casual background music. For those seeking more power or volume, pairing it with a subwoofer or upgrading to the Clarity 6.2 offers a seamless enhancement.

Price

The Radiant Acoustics Clarity 4.2 comes in black, white, and walnut veneer finishes, priced at just below €2,600 for a pair.
