At CES 2025, scheduled for early January in Las Vegas, the Danish company Dynaudio will unveil the Symphony Opus One soundbar. This impressive 73-inch soundbar features 24 speakers and amplifiers, delivering a total power output of 1,500 watts. The Symphony Opus One is an evolution of the model showcased at CEDIA Expo 2024, offering a range of high-end features along with a corresponding premium price tag. A key enhancement in this updated version is the integration of all amplification and processing components within the soundbar itself. This design change streamlines the installation process by eliminating the need for external components, thus simplifying setup and reducing the challenges associated with additional wiring.
The Dynaudio Symphony Opus One, measuring 73 inches in width and encased in an elegant aluminum alloy cabinet wrapped in acoustically transparent Scandinavian-style fabric, is designed to complement televisions with screen sizes of 83 inches or more. This soundbar embodies Dynaudio’s vision for the future of integrated home audio, aiming to resonate with the aesthetics of televisions that are 100 inches or larger.
Equipped with 24 drivers, the Symphony Opus One includes six soft-dome tweeters, fourteen midrange/woofer drivers, and four advanced dual-cone subwoofer drivers. Dynaudio emphasizes that the drivers utilized in this soundbar are the same high-quality components found in its top-tier speaker systems, automotive audio solutions, and studio reference monitors.
The large number of drivers necessitates significant amplification. Dynaudio has introduced a stated 1,500 watts of “digital amplification,” which collaborates with the company’s unique spatial audio processing algorithms to enhance the soundstage and deliver an immersive surround sound experience.
The Symphony Opus One soundbar is equipped with 72 motorized white oak fins, designed to be both aesthetically pleasing and practical. These fins not only contribute a visually appealing aspect but also adjust their position based on the selected listening mode, modifying the sound beam pattern accordingly.
The Dynaudio Symphony Opus One soundbar is equipped with four distinct listening modes: Authentic mode, designed to provide genuine stereo sound for high-fidelity music playback; Soundstage mode, which enhances the stereo experience for a more expansive auditory landscape; Immersive mode, which aims to deliver native Dolby Atmos through sound beaming technology, allowing sound to envelop the entire room; and DeepDive mode, which constructs a virtual sound environment that ensures an immersive audio experience from any seating position.
Dynaudio plans to introduce a wireless subwoofer and surround speakers to enhance the capabilities of this premium soundbar. Development of the Symphony Opus One soundbar is anticipated to extend into 2025, with a projected starting price of $20,000. The final cost may fluctuate based on selected options, as Dynaudio plans to provide a variety of high-end material finishes.
