The Finnish company Amphion has released a new generation of its popular Krypton3X floorstanders.
The model has a three-way design, a set of speakers includes a titanium tweeter with a diameter of 25 mm , loaded on a round waveguide and two mid-range drivers with the lightest papyrus diffusers with a diameter of 200 mm . Midrange speakers work on their closed acoustic volume of a triangular shape, the side walls of which are dotted with rows of holes.
This is how the implementation of the proprietary U / D / D (Uniformly Directive Diffusion) technology , designed to reduce internal reflections from the side and rear panels of the case, looks like.
The woofer with a diameter of 250 mm is located on the side wall of the case and is equipped with an aluminum cone with a long stroke, a dual bass reflex port is located on the rear panel. The crossover filter is set to frequencies of 160 Hz and 1600 Hz , the lower cutoff frequency is declared at 21 Hz at a level of -3 dB. The sensitivity of the system is 89 dB , the nominal impedance is 4 ohms . Dimensions of one speaker – 1370 x 330 x 480 mm , weight – 70 kg .
The Amphion Krypton3X floorstanding loudspeakers are available in the European market for €17,600 per pair in standard finishes and €18,600 in natural walnut veneer.
