Both models incorporate cutting-edge technologies and boast a sophisticated design. The series will be showcased at the High End audio fair in Munich.
Canton Reference Alpha
The Reference Alpha 1 and Reference Alpha 2 differ in size and weight to suit different room sizes and listening preferences. Both models use the same technological innovations and guarantee optimum music enjoyment. The mid- and high-frequency diaphragms of the Reference Alpha speakers are equipped with the newly developed diamond-ceramic-tungsten midrange system. The diamond layer on the diaphragms ensures an optimum stiffness-to-weight ratio. This ensures that voices and instruments are reproduced accurately and naturally.
The midrange driver features a new and exclusive triple curved, funnel-shaped cone. This ultra-light, phase-optimized cone focuses sound at a single point, enhancing impulse response and ensuring uniform sound radiation. The Triple Curved Cone (TCC technology) stabilizes the diaphragm while minimizing unwanted resonances and distortion. Additionally, the iridescent finish of the diaphragm adds to the remarkable aesthetic of the midrange driver.
The Reference Alpha features a sophisticated, curved design that merges style with practicality. Its multi-layer wood laminate side walls enhance stability and reduce resonance. The acoustically refined curves eliminate edge reflections, resulting in a striking and timeless appearance. The combination of round baffles, curved sides, bases, and lids, along with internal bracing, minimizes resonances and promotes a uniform radiation pattern. Additionally, the two-piece speaker connection of the Reference Alpha includes controls for Room Compensation (RC) technology, enabling users to fine-tune the sound pressure levels of bass, midrange, and treble in 1.5 decibel increments, allowing for optimal customization to individual listening preferences and room acoustics.
The Reference Alpha speakers create a striking visual impact with their sophisticated hues of Warm Grey and Midnight Blue. Paired with the unique, curved walnut side panel, these speakers seamlessly integrate into diverse living spaces, highlighting the premium quality of the series as noted by the designers. The suggested retail price for the Reference Alpha 1 is €60,000 per pair, while the Reference Alpha 2 is priced at €40,000 per pair.
