Shanling EC Zero T is a new portable CD player with a tube output, combining the classic way of playing audio with modern digital capabilities. The device is built around Shanling’s proprietary R2R DAC and a tube buffer stage on miniature JAN6418, which gives the sound the softness and expressiveness typical of tube technology. The model was officially presented at the exhibition in Munich, causing increased interest among connoisseurs of portable Hi-Fi.
EC Zero T combines a lightweight body, a redesigned anti-shock system and reliable CD mechanics with an active magnetic clamp. This makes the device convenient for both stationary and mobile use. The built-in 5500 mAh battery provides up to 8 hours of battery life, and when connected to a USB-C power source, a desktop mode with increased power is activated.
The player supports operation as an external DAC via USB, signal transmission via Bluetooth (including aptX Adaptive), and also offers a full set of outputs: 3.5 mm / 4.4 mm for headphones and a linear signal. Compatibility with 6.3 mm jacks (via an adapter) is also mentioned, which makes the model universal in the selection of headphones. Control is implemented via a color screen and hardware elements, including a side volume control.
