Schiit Audio has officially launched the third generation of its iconic tube headphone amplifier—the Valhalla 3. Priced at $499, this newest iteration is not merely a refresh of the well-loved Valhalla 2; it’s a complete reimagining designed with audiophiles and high-impedance headphone users in mind.

According to Schiit co-founder Jason Stoddard, the Valhalla 3 is “completely different” from its predecessor. Drawing inspiration from the company’s high-end Folkvangr amplifier, the Valhalla 3 employs a pure Class A triode topology and a fully OTL/OCL (Output Transformer-Less / Output Capacitor-Less) architecture. This means there are no output transformers or capacitors in the signal path—just unfiltered, direct tube power for an uncompromising listening experience.

Built for Precision and Power
One of the standout features of the Valhalla 3 is its load-impedance switch, allowing the amp to adapt effortlessly to a wide variety of headphone impedances. It also offers three gain settings—including a zero-feedback mode—tailored for optimal performance with high-impedance headphones. Whether you’re powering vintage 600-ohm cans or more modern 300-ohm models, the Valhalla 3 delivers nuanced control and rich, authentic tube sound.
