Bluesound has significantly revised its existing Powernode. The engineers have added an amplifier for a center speaker. The new Powernode can now deliver 100 watts per channel in stereo or 80 watts per channel if three channels were used. The class D amplification has been improved by using GaN technology. The shipment is expected to begin in September 2025.
Bluesound Powernode: for stereo and home cinema
Bluesound has introduced the next generation Powernode. The Powernode is still a compact streaming amplifier, but the latest generation aims to make it easier to convert to a home theater. The latest version builds on the previous version with a completely new design, both inside and out. It delivers up to 100 watts per channel in stereo or 80 watts in a 3.1 configuration. Bluesound has upgraded the DirectDigital amplification stage with gallium nitride (GaN) transistor technology. According to Bluesound, this should result in less distortion and improved sound quality. The complexity and cable clutter of traditional AV systems is eliminated, according to Bluesound.
With built-in HDMI eARC and support for center channel integration, users can pair the Powernode with a TV and left and right speakers for a tidy 3.1 setup. Adding Bluesound Pulse wireless speakers for rear channels and the Pulse Sub+ subwoofer can create a complete 5.1-channel surround system.
Connectivity has been modernized with the addition of a USB-C audio input. There are also analog and optical inputs, aptX Adaptive Bluetooth, and a 6.35mm headphone jack powered by a dedicated THX AAA headphone amplifier — a first in the category, according to Bluesound. It’s also Dirac Live Ready, which enables advanced room correction if users activate the feature by purchasing a license.
The Powernode is powered by Bluesound’s BluOS multi-room streaming platform, which supports over 20 streaming services including Tidal, Qobuz, Spotify, Amazon Music and Deezer. It also supports high-resolution formats up to 24-bit/192kHz, MQA and DSD256. BluOS enables seamless multi-room playback and intuitive control via apps for iOS, Android, macOS and Windows.
On the outside, the device still has a sleek industrial design with a matte black or white finish, a compact body and an all-glass touchscreen with five programmable, quickly accessible presets. A built-in proximity sensor activates the controls when the user comes closer.
Bluesound Powernode: price and delivery information
The new Bluesound Powernode can be ordered from August 12, 2025 and deliveries via authorized dealers are expected to start on September 10, 2025. The Bluesound Powernode will go over the counter for just under $1,100.
