Danish audio brand Dali has introduced a new color variant of its wireless headphones IO-12, named Mocha Grey. The IO-12 is recognized as the first headphone globally to utilize DALI’s innovative Soft Magnetic Compound (SMC) technology. Equipped with 50mm Custom Drivers, Active Noise Cancellation, aptX Adaptive Bluetooth, and both USB-C and 3.5mm connectivity options, the IO-12 is designed for seamless use whether at home or while traveling.
Dali initially focused on producing speakers but has expanded into the headphone market. Leveraging four decades of audio expertise, the Dali IO-12 headphones deliver exceptional sound quality and luxurious comfort. Additionally, the IO-12 received the EISA Award for Best Premium Headphones, with judges noting its versatility, including high-resolution playback via USB-C and three selectable ANC modes. With its ability to reproduce fine details, a rich midrange, and powerful bass, the IO-12 is sure to impress. The Dali IO-12 is now also available in a Mocha Grey variant, which shares the same technical specifications as its predecessor.
The Dali IO-12 headphones are crafted from the same premium materials as Dali’s high-end speakers and feature the world’s first magnet system utilizing Dali’s patented Soft Magnetic Compound (SMC). Traditional loudspeakers often face hysteresis when using standard magnets, which can create unwanted resistance in the voice coil and lead to audio distortion. However, Dali’s SMC technology, along with their signature paper fiber cones, effectively minimizes hysteresis, resulting in significantly reduced harmonic distortion. This innovation delivers exceptionally clear sound with minimal distortion, offering remarkable depth and musicality. Dali claims that by incorporating SMC into the IO-12, they have achieved midrange clarity comparable to electrostatic headphones. Designed for versatility, the Dali IO-12 can be used both wired and wirelessly, featuring aptX Adaptive Bluetooth as well as a 3.5mm mini-jack and USB-C cables. This allows users to connect to a wide range of devices, including smartphones, digital audio players (DAPs), PCs, and gaming consoles. The USB-C cable also supports audio playback at up to 24-bit/96kHz Hi-Res quality, depending on the source and device.
Users can effortlessly control playback, adjust volume, and more with the IO-12’s built-in buttons, eliminating the need for an app. The sophisticated Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) technology enhances the listening experience, allowing you to appreciate every detail of your music even in loud settings.
Designed for comfort and equipped with an impressive 35-hour battery life, the Dali IO-12 provides an unparalleled audio experience while on the move. Additionally, the high-quality integrated microphones ensure clear communication during hands-free calls or when using voice commands with compatible devices.
The Dali IO-12 features two distinct sound profiles for your listening pleasure. Whether you prefer to experience music as the artist intended or desire a more robust, bass-heavy sound, you can choose between ‘Hi-Fi’ mode and ‘Bass’ mode.
Featuring a foldable design with a genuine leather headband and extra-large square ear cushions, the new DALI IO-12s allow for hours of comfortable listening – even on the go.
