Onkyo has announced the TX-RZ30 AV receiver. The new TX-RZ30 is presented as a midrange AV receiver, but it now offers Dolby Atmos playback, support for 8K video and Dirac Live Room Correction.
Onkyo TX-RZ30: 9.2-channel AV receiver
The new 9.2-channel TX-RZ30 is positioned below the TX-RZ50 model (also read our review of the Onkyo TX-RZ50 ). The TX-RZ30’s power rating is slightly lower than the TX-RZ50 at 100 watts per channel (two channels driven), but otherwise the units are very similar. In short, the TX-RZ30 supports almost every streaming platform and multichannel codec.
With the purchase of a license, the Onkyo TX-RZ30 also features Dirac Live Room Correction, an alternative to traditional calibration routines, with control over the full frequency range from 20 Hz to 20 kHz for music and movies.
The user has several options to control the TX-RZ30. Voice control is supported in the form of Google Assistant and Siri. An IR remote control is included and control via RS232 is also possible. Google Cast and Airplay 2 are included in the feature package as well as music playback via the well-known streaming services Spotify, Amazon Music HD, Tidal, Deezer, Pandora and Tunein (internet radio). The TX-RZ30 has two-way Bluetooth support for listening to wireless headphones and playing sound from a smartphone or tablet. Sonos integration is also available.
The Onkyo TX-RZ30 is expected to be available from October 2024. The price has not yet been announced.
