Esoteric S-05 is a stereo power amplifier borrowed from the engineering technologies of the flagship Grandioso M1X monoblock. The new S-05 is a Class A power amplifier completely focused on delivering all the unique tonal qualities of music from a more compact stereo system, embodying the Grandioso M1X philosophy of “minimum circuitry, maximum power.”
The device uses “generous use of materials borrowed from the Grandioso M1X” in combination with a simple and clear circuit design concept. This is a dual mono design with a proprietary Esoteric current signal interface and an ES-Link analog input. 3 parallel cascades of bipolar transistors are used.
The power transformer with a large W-shaped core with a power of 940 VA was supplemented with special storage capacitors (10,000 μF × 4/channel). The circuit of the input gain stages is balanced.
