Atoll DAC 300 is the top reference DAC in Atoll’s lineup. To convert the digital signal to analog, an eight-channel chip of the latest generation ESS SABER ES9038PRO is used, which is currently capable of processing virtually any audio file, namely: PCM with a resolution of up to 32 bits/768 kHz and DSD up to DSD512. The chip has a high dynamic range and low harmonic distortion. The Atoll DAC 300 also uses a separate independent low noise LDO voltage regulator ESS SABER ES9311EQ and a high precision clock generator with very low jitter.
The Atoll DAC 300 model received a fully symmetrical circuit topology, twelve voltage regulators and two low-noise power transformers to power the output section in which discrete elements are installed. The circuits use carefully selected high-end components, including high-quality MKP capacitors and silver-plated mica capacitors. The output stage does not use feedback (the stage operates in class A), thereby minimizing distortion.
Atoll DAC 300 is assembled in a low full-size metal case with pleasant smooth design lines, a front aluminum panel and an OLED display that displays the selected source, the sampling frequency of the audio file being processed, the volume level, and is also characterized by low power consumption. On the facade there is a source selector and a volume control knob, with which you can also control the DAC filter. The model has adjustable analog outputs, so it can be connected directly to a power amplifier.
Atoll DAC 300 is equipped with a Bluetooth receiver and a wide range of digital inputs, among which, in addition to coaxial and optical connectors, are balanced AES/EBU and asynchronous USB, which allows you to accept PCM formats up to 32 bit/768 kHz and DSD64/128/256/512. There are optical and coaxial outputs, and the analog output stage is represented by balanced and unbalanced connectors. There is a high-quality headphone amplifier on board with a 3.5 mm jack located on the front. To control the flagship Atoll DAC 300, use a standard universal remote control.
