Softears has launched an enhanced version of its well-known RSV in-ear headphones, the Softears RSV MK2, which maintains the same setup featuring five balanced armature drivers in each earpiece. This new model includes upgraded drivers, a refined crossover with independent channels, a new cable, and a striking new design. Designed for both audiophiles and music enthusiasts, the Softears RSV MK2 in-ear headphones deliver clear audio with natural timbres and a vibrant bass response. To address the common issues encountered by other all-armature headphones, the Softears RSV MK2 incorporates a dual bass tube for a more lively and dynamic bass.
Softears incorporates high-quality balanced armature drivers in the RSV MK2. A duo of Knowles CI22955 manages the low-frequency spectrum. These are the largest balanced armature drivers currently available, producing a remarkable bass response. The ED driver provides a natural sound and excellent resolution in the midrange. For the high frequencies, a SWFK composite balanced armature driver is utilized.
Utilizing proprietary LRC filters along with a meticulously designed four-way crossover featuring four independent acoustic channels, Softears has outfitted the RSV MK2 headphones with a crossover system that enhances the efficiency of each driver, ensuring that the output signal remains pristine and devoid of the distortion typically found in multi-driver systems.
The Softears RSV MK2 in-ear headphones have adopted Softears’ hallmark technologies from the premium RS10 — passive air damping and dual pressure relief. These innovative technologies alleviate pressure in the ear canal, providing a comfortable listening experience while simultaneously boosting bass performance. Additionally, the Softears RSV MK2 headphones are distinguished by their stunning design. The housings feature CNC-machined anodized aluminum outer panels adorned with a unique carbon V-shaped pattern, complemented by an ergonomic sound guide produced via 3D printing. This sound guide includes a protruding edge that securely grips the tips, preventing them from dislodging.
The manufacturer has provided a cryogenically treated oxygen-free copper (OFC) cable within the Softears RSV MK2 headphones package. This cable features standard 2-pin 0.78 mm connectors along with a balanced Pentacon 4.4 mm plug.
The Softears RSV MK2 in-ear headphones are currently available at a recommended retail price of $699 USD.
