Meze Elite is not just another update. Externally, the model is very reminiscent of the successful Meze Empyrean. And this is natural, because Elite is essentially a development of the ideas laid down in the previous top. Development based on long-term development and improvement. As before, the headphones are a product of cooperation with the Ukrainian company Rinaro. For the new model, the latter created even more technologically complex and advanced planar emitters. As before, their potential is revealed by the signature recognizable design of Meze.
Meze Elite consists of many small details. Attention to each of them forms the whole diversity of user experience. The model was created with care for music lovers and with an eye on comfortable and reliable use. This time, the design emphasizes durable, long-lasting and pleasant texture materials. Therefore, the headband is made of lightweight and durable carbon fiber. And in the development of the bowls, aluminum is used, which has retained its own color, texture and traces of processing.
The headband material is genuine leather. At the same time, for maximum comfort and better weight distribution, the headphones use a special approach awaiting patent confirmation. This is a unique system that is special wings that guide the headband closer to the head. Due to this, a larger contact area is achieved. That is, pressure is reduced, comfort is increased and fatigue is eliminated. In addition, an important feature is the grille specially developed by the company. It is not just designed taking into account the optimal movement of sound waves for proper acoustic design. It is also a complex and beautiful structure that serves as a decoration for the model and gives it a futuristic look.
The process of manufacturing an aluminum frame takes about 20 hours. To this should be added the time for making other parts and for assembly. And for quality control, which cannot be achieved by other methods. So the production of the model is not mass-produced. These are single copies, created with the meticulousness that a work of art deserves. As before, the basis of the headphones is an isodynamic emitter developed by Rinaro. Armed with its own patented Isodynamic Hybrid Array technology, a completely new driver was developed. First of all, the changes affected the membrane material. It was named Parus. And it is made of a special reinforced polymer using a special technology of biaxial elongation. The process involves stretching the material using a special method at high temperature. As a result, the process gives birth to a semi-crystalline structure in the material. It, in turn, gives the membrane high strength and lightness.
Meze EliteIt took engineers more than 3 years to implement even more outstanding sound quality with amazing characteristics. The THD+N of the new emitter across the entire frequency range does not exceed 0.005%. The semi-crystalline biaxial membrane has become even thinner and lighter. It weighs only 0.11 g with an effective radiation area of 4650 mm2. In turn, the overall weight of the emitter has also decreased. Now it is only 75 grams. This was achieved, for example, by using fiberglass-reinforced ABS plastic.
In turn, the body can withstand a force of up to 12.7 N. It is created by the magnetic field of a two-way system. Neodymium magnets, which are made to order, create a uniform magnetic field strength of 0.35 T. Its homogeneity allows for uniform movement of all sections of the membrane. In addition, the Isomagnetic driver grille also contributes to this. It uses the driver’s magnetic field to hold the ear pads and redirects it back to the driver. As a result, it is possible to save up to 12% of the emitter’s energy. At the same time, the impedance of the headphones is 32 Ohms. This, combined with a sensitivity of 101 dB, allows you to easily use almost any source without the need for additional amplification and high output power. That is, the headphones have a high versatility of connection.
