HIFIMAN Ananda Nano: open magnetic planar headphones with stealth magnets

HIFIMAN Ananda Nano

HIFIMAN Ananda Nano is a new version of open planar headphones from the famous Chinese company.

  • New ANANDA NANO 3rd iteration with obvious improvement in dynamics and overall detail
  • The SUSVARA-based diaphragm design provides ultra-low distortion and lightning-fast transient response.
  • HiFiMAN Stealth Magnets for detailed and transparent sound

HiFiMAN begins shipping the ANANDA NANO, the third iteration and long-awaited update to one of ANANDA’s most popular open planar headphones.
The Nano represents a generational leap forward for popular headphones and features a nanometer-thick membrane. Based on SUSVARA’s reference open-back headphones, the diaphragm delivers ultra-low distortion, lightning-fast transient response, and a clear improvement in dynamics and overall detail over the original, highly acclaimed model.

“ANANDA has been one of our most popular headphones since we introduced it in 2018. But with the development of a nanometer-thick diaphragm, we saw a clear path to improving its performance while maintaining the wide soundscape and pleasant musicality that made the original a favorite many audiophiles.”

Fang Bian – President and CEO of HiFiMAN Electronics

NANOMETER THICK MEMBRANE BASED ON SUSVARA
Why do planar magnet headphones often sound better than traditional dynamic headphones? Because the conductor layer (voice coil) on the membrane of planar headphones is evenly distributed over the surface of the membrane, the electromagnetic force that causes the membrane to vibrate and produce sound acts much more evenly than the voice coil acts on the surface of the cone membrane of dynamic headphones. As a result, phase distortion is much lower and less spatial information is lost during audio reproduction than with dynamic headphones, while providing a much larger soundstage and better positioning.

Result: ANANDA NANO have a wide frequency range: 5 Hz – 55 kHz. The three-dimensional sound field envelops the listener’s ears, while the positioning and visualization of musical instruments is as accurate as in a live performance.

STEALTH MAGNETS
Traditional magnets generate sound waves that can cause interference. The special shape of HiFiMAN’s Stealth magnets allows waves to pass through them without interference. This design is acoustically transparent, minimizing sound wave degradation and reducing distortion for an accurate audio signal.

Technical characteristics of HIFIMAN Ananda Nano:

  • Frequency range: 5 Hz – 55000 Hz
  • Resistance: 14 ohms
  • Sensitivity: 94 dB
  • Weight: 419 g
