HiBy named this pair after the classic 12th century novel Yvain, Knight of the Lion, which tells the heroic story of the medieval knight Yvain. He was faced with a dilemma between keeping his promise to his beloved and fulfilling his personal mission. In self-exile, he rediscovered the meaning of this phrase, and the lion he saved became his faithful companion in his adventures. The CNC machined aluminum caps are engraved with a lion’s face as a key design element.
HiBy has equipped each side with a four-driver Multi-BA system. It uses high-quality balanced armature drivers Knowles and Sonion, combined into a three-way frequency crossover. The woofer is a Knowles BA driver with strong bass response, the full-frequency driver is a SONION dual composite driver, and the tweeter is a high-end Knowles armature driver. They provide excellent resolution and crisp detail while maintaining a reference tuning profile.
HiBy Yvain ships with a high quality PCOCC cable with a balanced Litz Type 4 Coaxial design. It provides low internal resistance and low distortion, and also protects the signal from external interference. The cable is equipped with standard 0.78 mm connectors, as well as a system of interchangeable connectors. The package includes 3.5mm single-ended, 4.4mm balanced and 2.5mm balanced plugs.
