Nothing OS 3.0 on Android 15 Released

Nothing has yet to officially announce the worldwide launch of Nothing OS 3.0. This update, which is built on Android 15, marks the biggest release in the history of the young British brand. Starting today, December 18, the stable version of Nothing OS 3.0 is now accessible to users globally.

Nothing OS 3.0 really nails the brand’s vibe. The revamped interface is now lighter and way more user-friendly. You can personalize your lock screen with six unique dials, and the widget panel is expandable for more options. They’ve swapped out the N-Dot font for the classic Roboto, which is simpler and easier to read, plus Inter is now available too. The dot style still pops up in some widgets, optional setting titles, the lock screen clock, and various animations, all powered by a new engine for smooth performance.

Nothing Gallery supports all of Google Photos’ editing tools, including dynamic correction, magic eraser, filters, and markup.

On top of that, the new Nothing Gallery app has launched with the firmware. It comes packed with all the editing tools from Google Photos, like dynamic correction, magic eraser, filters, and markup. Plus, it opens 1.4 seconds faster than Google Photos, and HDR and portrait effects are processed 25% quicker. Since it’s still in the testing phase, the promised AI features like image generation, low-quality scaling, super resolution, and advanced natural language search will roll out later.

Other new features in Nothing OS 3.0 include:

• redesigned quick settings panel with the ability to edit the size and location of buttons;
• collaborative interactive widgets that display shared content and stickers between Nothing smartphones;
• Automatic brightness activation is built right into the brightness slider in the quick settings panel;
• smart AI-powered app menu with categorized folders and recommendations for the apps you need;
• Redesign of the Settings app, widget library, and core system pop-ups.

Nothing OS 3.0 is currently available for Phone (2) and Phone (2a). The size is about 2 GB. The Phone (1), Phone (2a) Plus and CMF Phone 1 will receive the firmware in early 2025.
